With that news then maybe ----------------------------Danny Wilko-------Boogaard---------Jedi--------Viddy Owens------Hutchinson--Pondeljak----Kwasnik ----------------Petrovski----Aloisi Trott, O'Grady/Porter/Brown , Gumps, Simon hell no - no pace in the middle. need wilko there. if there were ever a week to change formation, this is it: -----------------------------Danny---------------------------- -------Boogaard-----------Wilko---------Viddy----------- ------------------Hutch-------------Jedi--------------------- Owens----------------Pondeljak----------------Kwasnik --------------------Petrovski----Aloisi---------------------- more likely we'd have a pretty similar look, but with a different spin: ---------------------Danny---------------- --Boogaard--Wilko---Jedi---Viddy-- ------------------Hutch------------------- Owens-------------------------Kwasnik -----------------Pondeljak--------------- ----------Petrovski----Aloisi------------ given we've been playing with all the width of... something pretty narrow (sorry, long day) and tommy's not the world's hardest worker in defence, we'll start looking more like a 4-3-3. but if we get a little more aggressive, we can push jedi into midfield.

I get the feeling that Vidmar isn't up to playing as a fullback these days where would you put him then?

it really looks like the melbourne guys don't at all look confident judging by the fact people on the melbourne forum are giving 5-0 to the mariners.
For them we will probably see:
-----------------------Theoklitos
Kemp--------Ryall--------Vargas------Keenan
Broxham-----------Muscat---------Brebner
---------Allsopp---Thompson------Hernandez
Bench: Galekovic, Caceres, Love, Vasilevski/Berger
Although that is similar to the loss to newcastle and the thrashing by adelaide so merrick may choose to shake things up a bit
Interesting game and their defense is somewhat weakened by the suspension of pantelidis and loss of Ljubo Milicevic so im optimistic about this one

Word on the Melbourne street is that they're going to sign Michael Thwaite to cover their defensive shortcomings...... hopefully it's not done in time before Sunday.

I would not be too certain of Wilko's fitness yet. Think about it. Last week even though our defense was being carved up he was not used. I suspect he was not fit but was on the bench because there was no one else, a bit like the bench in NZ. Even if I am wrong I do not think he will be up for a full match yet.
If Viddi is playing his only position is centre back he is too slow to play either left or right. I would like to see Hutch as DM, Tommy as AM and Jedi as LB. Owens and Kwas on the wings.
We seem to be a little short of LBs and RBs but have plenty of slow CBs.

No - Hutch is not much good at defensive stuff...... you remember him from NSFC - he was alway an attacking player ... and he did that on sunday... brilliant.... do you mean Jedi as right wing back? I agree he'd be perfect there...

His goal was ok... Pantel idis should have got the medal. I know what Panelidis did was serious foul play and the decision was correct, but that filthy prick should have got a yellow for tugging and pulling him (get your mind above the gutter, OK). Play should have been pulled up before the red. Without bias he's a good player, but he lets himself down badly, to put it mildly. He is a pathetic excuse for a man, a total waste of oxygen and a blight on all humanity. He is perfectly suited to play for the club that represents what I consider to be one of the worst places on earth. I reckon a "Thank You Pantelidis" banner is a must this weekend.
