we were hardly lucky 1. we hit the post twice in the first fifteen minutes 2. their finishing was poor 3. keenan's tackle was a joke and deserved a red 4. we came back strong in the last ten through clever subs and determination none of these factors had luck Im not questioning the red card, but if keenan had got their any earlier he wouldnt have got the red card. Fine line in football

Fine line in football I just saw the replay of the match and when toomy scored his goal i had that similar sappy feeling i got when the boys qualifyied for world cup Re:that keenen red card at the time from my distant view i thought clarky had been sent his tackle looked dodgy after seeing the replay keenan definitly deserved to go but if he was on the the way clarky came in would be very close to a red also. Was very funny watching sash and vargas walking off with there reds sash was loving it and vargas looked like someone had ran over his cat ;D

I buggered up recording the game on Sunday but was able to catch the replay today on Fox.
I have to admit, I thought some of you guys were a bit of the top about going on about Harper. Well, I apologise!
It's a game of opinions and everyone is entitled to theirs, but bloody hell, by the end of the game I was sick of Harper going on about how Melbourne and how they were outplaying us. Every time he opened his trap (about every 15 seconds), the dribble coming out of his mouth was garbage.
You would have thought Melbourne were up 10 nil the way he was carrying on. It was broken record stuff. The bias against us was sickening and way over the top.
Of course a comentator must have opinions otherwise he may as well not be there, but how about some balance?
I don't mind Harper wanting Melbourne to win, which stating the obvious he did, but is job is to be balanced in his descriptions and he wasn't. I was sick to death of hearing how great they were and how crap we were. I didn't think Cockerill was bad, he was fairly balanced and called it how he saw it.
I'm the first to admit Melbourne were the better side, but so what. We've outplayed many teams over two and half years and came away with nothing. That's the beautiful thing about Football.
On another note, all our defenders were stretched, not just Viddie. Few on here with short memories. Viddie has been fantastic this season. Thompson, Allsop and Hernandez were brilliant the other night and would have caused any defence problems. Viddie's age had nothing to do with it. He didn't have his best game, but that doesn't mean his past it. For mine, if he's not the best defender running around, he is very, very close to it. You can't buy his experience and I hope he backs up next year before he starts his coaching career with us.

The bay was really quiet this week... plus what's the go with chanting like we're half yawning and need a bit of a nap.. lol And what's with that aweful maudlin sang "We are one, we are many...We are Australian, etc". That would have to be the worst song to sing at a football match IMO. It just doesn't work, and sounds like a wailing cat. Not knocking us for trying, but give it up! ;D

I've just watched the goals again on youtube and 1 thing that I just noticed (which is brilliant), is that after both goals Johnny Aloisi was over the moon, shows his hunger to win with the Mariners is well and truely here!! Who says he's here only for the money?
