I like the way Danny comes off his line. However, the escapades down the field like against Sydney are just silly. I would rather Danny stay back and Tommy up front to get the equaliser rather than covering for Danny. Also at the time of the Sydney game our goal difference wasn't looking that flash. Thats the whole point of him doing it tho. Tommys not spose to cover for him (people need to be aware so they can try chase the ball back) but the whole purpose is to get an extra man and push for a goal tommy should be right up ther aswell. He only does it at critical times yes goal dif was tite but we should be doing everything to make sure it doesnt come down to that at the buissness end.I for one would sacrafice a goal for a point any day.

What's sad is that he's going to have all this coached out of him when he goes to Europe I think, guess it depends where he goes.
Shame he doesn't do all this in FIFA 08!

It looks like he's being suspended in the air. One part of his shirt is really pointy like there is a wire. However, considering Danny's energy as the article suggests, I wouldn't be surprised if he could do that.

It woulld be good to see but I don't really want to see him try it. Just imagine that scores are level in time added on in the grand final. We have a corner with Danny up. The corner comes in and Danny brings out the scorpion to win the frisbee.

I've become a huge fan of Danny. Not only because he's a great goalkeeper and looks more and more like a future Socceroo, but also for his sheer passion and enthusiasm. It will be a very sad day when he decides to leave the Mariners and head off overseas to continue his career. I just hope he can take a premiership medallion with him when he does.

Ive been thinking that even if Danny doesnt get offered anything overseas it will be hard to keep both him and Trott as IMO Trott would be a definite starter in most other HAL clubs and either could get an offer we cannot match.
This will be a major dilemma for the club as they will have to trade off keeping Danny for another year or 2 against Trott being at the mariners as a bit of a longer term fixture in the squad.

Danny's blood rushes I suspect will become a more..whats the right word...timely? as he matures in his role of Keeper. I love his passion and his excitement and that he is such a team player.
I agree with you skilbeck, that that will become a big issue for us in a few years, if not earlier. I hope we can keep at least one of them though. They are both top keepers. Trott's height I think is one of the biggest things separating him from Danny..the sheer extra reach that that gives him, but I also think that because is a touch shorter than the average keeper, he has worked hard to improve his reflexes and diving.
I think Trott is just as passionate as Danny, but is more restrained in how he shows it. How old is Trottcompared to Danny? Maybe theres a few more years maturity in him?

I dont think Trotty is a patch on Danny. I dont think Trotty would dislodge ANY other current first team keeper. He is improving but is very flawed when it comes to dealing with crosses. Vukovic is brilliant but needs to calm down abit. I'm hoping he starts today.

. . i know i would be in two minds if i had 100kg of danny coming out at me and knowing he won't be having any second thoughts I thought that was a dream that a lot of young women who support the Mariners had. ;D *big dreamy sigh* One day.. R2 Danny! R2!

He is a great keeper but he makes silly mistakes, and he played well against the roar last week!
