Yep - gotta love his enthusiasm but.....
I saw the flag early and I'm yelling at him to get back - everyone around me was looking at me as some sort of idiot screaming at Vukovic and saying get back you idiot.
Funniest thing was that the Adelaide guy passed it to another Adelaide guy in an offside position - I actually think thats why Pryzdeck pulled it back. Linesman had his flag up. I wonder what would have happened if he wasn't offside....

Ha ha, gotta love Danny's enthusiasm.
He's destined to be a cult hero if he ever manages to head in a goal when he goes forward for the last corner of a match, and destined to be a villain when he goes over the top with celebration and leaves his goal exposed.
But it's that sort of risk taking that keeps the strikers of opposing teams a bit edgy about him, he is not conservative and conventional in his goalkeeping duties. That often causes him to take a charge out of goal when convention dictates he hunches inside the 6 yard box - or vice versa.
I reckon he owes Tommy P. a crateload of beer after Tommy's gut busting run in the last minute of the match vs. Sydney to deflect a lob off our goal (when Danny went forward in search of his first goal).
It's all part of the whole package that is Danny Vukovic, and I for one, can do with an occassional scare or two, if it means that he's also completing fantastic saves. ;D

Dannys great if/when he scores a goal i honestly think the bay if not the crowd will take the field how was dannys tackle in mid air on the edge of the box. When we have clinchedtop spot i think danny should be aloowed to have az run up front or at least take a penalty it would be magic.

. the way he plays definitely gets to the opposition - nobody comes out of their box like danny
. i know i would be in two minds if i had 100kg of danny coming out at me and knowing he won't be having any second thoughts

Dany is looking great as a keeper. However, I would like to know what JC has said to him about his downfield escapades.

Everybody loves Danny, loves his spirit, and loves to see him come out of the goal to celebrate with his teammates. That was an interesting decision by Pryzdacz - if Adelaide were offside we should've gotten the free kick, but oh well. Oh man, I will NEVER forget that edge-of-the-box challenge where he jumped about a meter and a half off the ground and launched himself sideways to clear the ball. It's like something you'd see in a kung-fu flick - except the actor would've used wires ;-) I'd love to see a photo of that actually....I'm going to check the newsphotos site, see if any of their photographers got a shot. Seriously, that was BRILLIANT keeping - most (well let's be honest - every other keeper in the world) would've either stood on their line, or some out to within a couple of yards of the attacker. Waited for him to take the controlling touch and the shot - and he probably would've scored. To actually be proactive, instead of waiting to see what he does then hoping you can react to it on time....I'll never forget that image

I think Danny is a pretty good judge of when to come off his line. In the game against Sydney, we were a goal down, and may as well have lost 4-2, as 3-2. I can understand Tommy's frustration at having to run back and clear the ball off our line, but none of us would have been happy if the lads had just settled for 2-3 and not had an honest go at getting back an equaliser.
He's also very good at coming off his line for crosses, as well as hoofing the ball into row Z to deny an opposition striker a one-on-one....even though I'm convinced he'll miss the ball and decapitate someone one of these days.
The 2 occasions where he has got it wrong are:
Saturday V Adelaide - in his enthusiasm to celebrate, he forgot the minor detail that is looking at the ref to make sure he's confirmed the goal.
Last season V Perth- when Colosimo caught him out with a quick free kick, and he ran half the length of the pitch to give the ref a spray.

Danny WILL get it wrong one of these days, and he will probably cop it from all quarters. But who knows how many goals he has saved with challenges such as the scissor volley on Saturday?
When we concede a shit goal because he is playing in midfield I for one will forgive the guy. We have a recklessly brilliant keeper and I wouldn't have it any other way!

It makes me so nervous when Danny comes off his line but it also makes it more exciting. That ninja kick was BRILLIANT!! We were sitting in the corner and me and my mates were going off cos it was fantastic. And as people keep saying one day he is going to make a mistake coming of his line but we all make mistakes. He's allowed to make some after the amount of times he has saved us (season 2 especially).

I like the way Danny comes off his line. However, the escapades down the field like against Sydney are just silly. I would rather Danny stay back and Tommy up front to get the equaliser rather than covering for Danny. Also at the time of the Sydney game our goal difference wasn't looking that flash.

He is a maverick BUT he is imho the best keeper in the A-League and i think he will be Australia next dominant no1. Coaches will curb his blood rushes over the next few years.

He is the best young keeper and has claims to best in the HAL. Covic and Theoklitos probably have to be considered too. But I can't believe that JC hasn't stopped the blood rushes yet. (i'm only talking about the 80 metre dashes).
