CENTRAL COAST UNITED FC
The team:
This Central Coast team is a far more capable side this term than they looked last summer, with the club opening the purse strings to bring in stars like Matt Bingley, Ilija Prenzoski, Shane Knight and wily campaigner Ian Ferguson.
The coach:
Grant Lee is in charge and has shaped the side really well at this early stage.
Many observers were impressed by the way the side beat former giants Sydney United convincingly in the Johnny Warren Cup.
With his assistant, the vastly experienced Tony Pezzano to guide him Lee should not be short of advice, especially when it comes to playing some of the ex goalkeeper’s former clubs.
Player to watch:
Keegan Wolfenden slotted into the defence nicely in the early pre-season games and looks like being one of the hits of the league. The Newcastle native is one of the young brigade around whom the experienced players like Bingley and Scott Thomas can pass on a great deal.
