Seems like CCFA took the easy way out on Saturday by canning the whole round. Other codes didn't seem to have too much of a problem playing.
Some grounds were barely damp and games should have gone ahead at these grounds
Seems someone decided there was a hell of a lot less effort if the whole round was just cancelled.
It is unfair to teams to simply cancel a whole round. Teams with the bye on Saturday have a distinct advantage.

Yea i agree, it really got me annoyed saturday morning when i found out.
They done the same thing last year and gave every one a point, i think they will do the same again this year give everyone a point expect for the people who have the bye, but still it is a massave advantage to the teams that have the bye and a disadvantage to the teams that have a finals chance that play the weaker sides.
if they didnt cancel the round they would have had to make up about 80 games as there was about 12 grounds closed i think. It will be interesting to see what the CCF do but as i said before i wouldnt be surprised if they give every one who was ment to play a draw

I agree some games at Pluim on Friday were rightfully called off. Because the ground had pools of water. But on Saturday many grounds were fit for play. We're in the middle of a drought and games were called off from an office

The fixtures officers canned it after trying to reschedule over 70 games.

Well they should have tried harder, because with the forecast for rain through till next Monday they are going to have another round to cancel after this weekend. (Luckily only a few grades scheduled to play)

Spit the dummy and respond to any criticism by saying you do it better. There are inherent problems in calling off whole rounds of football when some games can be played. Now CCFA has to resheule a whole round instead of half a round. As it happens there is a weekend spare in the July school holidays that they are going to use. Will this weeknds games fit into that weekend as well?

I agree Nomes 100 percent. A thankless difficult job. It would be made easier though if they didn't have to reschedule the whole round, just the games that were legitimately washed out.
My other concern is that there is no statement in place as to what the protocol is. If it rains and rounds are lost are the games to be postponed, cancelled. If cancelled how many points, if any are distributed. This should all be in black and white before the season starts.

I heard something on the radio about this this morning, or yesterday. I vaguely remember something about not re-scheduling because time wouldn't permitt it. Don't take my word on it just in case i'm wrong, but it was along those lines.

Thats what i think they will do as well, i expect them to not play the round and give everyone who was ment to play a Draw. it is what they done last year. it is a big advantage to teams who have the bye and a disadvantage to teams that play easy sides but we have to live with it

I heard the games will be replayed on the 8th of August The 8th of August is a Tuesday. If you mean the 8th of july, if they do play it that day it would only be for comps that have 9 or 10 teams in it because comps that have 7 or 8 teams in it play on that day.

Another was out tomorrow, the council let the clubs decide weather to open the grounds or not today and all but 3 grounds were closed so the CCF had no choice but to cancel all games tomorrow and a decision will be made saturday evening about the games on sunday

Did anyone think that council closes parks as well. It's not the best to call games off but if we broke a leg because of slippery surface or pot hole whose going to be sued? I did an ankle in a few years ago when a ground should have been closed and wasn't.
