Fee to play Super Youth League in 2006 was $550. In 2007 it has been set at $950.
That's a little over the inflation rate.

Does anyone else remember El Keech saying at the Gosford City Bowl function that the fees would remain the same or similar this year? Or was this another throw away platitude for the masses?

well, if your playing in ther pyl at bankstown for instance the fees are 1100 per player. blacktown and other top line clubs are charging around that mark and probably more.

well - bankstown - no academy link to a an overseas club. blacktown city - linked with west ham academy marconi - dont know. northern tigers - kuringai - arsenal academy. u13 squad at end of year going there. parramatta eagles - tied into manu
so you see why that coinage is appropriate to some degree.

i was thinking about getting my kids into reps this year but at that cost, i'd have to mortgage the house. i called the office a couple weeks ago to get some info and no one had any answers for anything so i didn't bother bringing them down for trials. is this el keech fellow the one in charge of the board of directors?

Great points JW. Gosford 18s side won the champions of champions this season and i could guarantee you that an absolute minimum of 10 from that side would have cruised through trials and easily been in Coast last season. If these kids are rejecting rep football for club, surely something is up?

No I understand the Board control all the staff including the GM and decisions come from the Board

There is a $400 increase from 2006. times 150 odd players where is it all going.
True the clubs Johnnywarren has mentioned charge more. St George for instance charge $1200 plus $1200 for a "non compulsory" academy. But our fee last year was $550 so we are talking about the sudden increase here not what others are paying.
You can bet Under 13's from Kuringai aren't having a trip to Arsenal thrown in for their rego fee.
All anyone needs, as farpost says is a little openess and honesty.
Why can't the web site say up front the cost for $2007 to represent the coast is $950 and for this you get a, b and c.
If some of the money is going to pay for a high performance coaching director, fair enough but let everyone know.
Parramatta in Sydney has just gone broke, a large percentage of the kids fees was being channelled into maintaining the first grade team.
As Kensey says why aren't the best kids from our club teams playing for lightning. The $950 is just the start of it.

Same reason Central Coast United Football Club went bankrupt, in the end first grade players weren't getting paid, so as was said before where the hell does all this money go ??.
