After overseeing a CCF operating loss of $500000 one of the most hated men in Central Coast football has finally resigned.
Hopefully this now paves the way for a more open, transparent and accountable CCF.

I guess unless we know the facts proper it's hard to lay the blame as don't forget there is a board, finance director etc etc, so we may not like decisions made by him but at the end of the day the board or any I have been associated with also have the final say in spending money or staffing. Think about what I have heard is that there have been 5 GM's - WHY, can someone tell me?

I've worked on more boards than I want to but no one else volunteers. The board can over ride GM's decisions or approve decisions and yes the GM decides whether he should stay or go. Perhaps the final straw was staffing - who approved a HPM and at what cost, this would have been passed by the Board who would I think know the financials etc and that's why he's gone. Now that's then end for me

Think about what I have heard is that there have been 5 GM's - WHY, can someone tell me? 5 GM's? Over what period of time? In the last 5 years I can only recall 2. This forum has been on about Keech since shortly after his arrival. Unfortunately he has caused unrest, with very knowledgeable coaches and administrators resigning because of his "my way or the high way attitude." He came from a non football background but insisted on input in football matters ostracising more knowledgeable men. There have been one or two who have stuck up for him in that time, calling his detractors all sorts of names. (Just ask Rowdy Roddy) How can you blame the board it has been pretty much constant for a number of years.

Ultimately I would believe the directors are legally repsonsible for the financial management of the company. They appoint the GM but also need to monitor his performance etc etc etc. What are the assets of the CCF, just Pluim Park. ? If so does the CCF have the brass to pay back this debt. ? Will the CCF survive this and will we have soccer on the coast next year. ?

Is this debt the reason for the $400 rise in registration fees

Ding Dong, the witch is dead. and good riddance. Ultimately it was by his own hand, looks better on the resume than to be sacked. $500,000.oo is a shit load of money to lose. I have just been on the CCF website and there's no mention of his resignation? But noticed a thread for 'Flash Football' reading though it I noticed that Daniel Barret is listed as a 'CCF Development Officer'. So am I correct in assuming that the CCF has Daniel Barret as a 'Development Officer' in conjunction with Mark Boyd as the 'High Performance Manager'? seem's to me to be 2 blokes getting paid to do the same job? Kid's that play for CCF Lightning on the pitch are 'performing higher' than other kid's of the same age and could also be considered more 'developed', so to have a position for a 'Development Officer' and another for a 'High Performance Manager' seem's a bit absurd, if this is this case.

Again the CCFA is in deep shit. They are looking to ask clubs to help them out of debt. I'm very tired of helping the CCFA out of debt after years of poor decision making and lack of accountability. My money has gone into someone luxurious home at Bondi and elsewhere. It's time we got the right sort of people into manageing and running the Central coast football. Not dickheads who rip me and many like me off.

The clubs should not bail out the CCF make them accountable this has got to stop. The income of the CCF is pretty much known each year from the fee's raised through registration, gate takings, which they set canteen profits (hopefully) etc etc, all they have to do quite simply is live within a budget everyone has to do that. Our club fees are pretty high at present around $100 for 2006 season for a 10 year old. ( Why is this so I have a mate in a Sydney club and he pays $49 for his ten year old and is complaining about that. !!!!! ) No more empire building which just leaves us in real trouble in the future. If they can't make money from the canteen ( a no brainer really ) just rent it out to someone who wants to make a buck that way we can't lose on this one (which it sounds like we have been doing for years).

Kid's that play for CCF Lightning on the pitch are 'performing higher' than other kid's of the same age But thats the thing. There are many kids who don't play for lightning because they are in the "second league". Back when they used to be in the 'premier youth league' that was what everyone strived towards doing. I played for the 'coasties' back in the day, the year they decided to have the whole transition to Central coast united, and many players knew that it probably wouldn't be a change for the best and many of my team mates moved to sydney. I myself didn't even bother trialling in the last couple of years because i thought that playing first grade for terrigal was a much better opportunity. It's good to have young players in the local comp playing the highest possible level (first and reserve grade), and if that is considered higher than playing rep level by some, plus about a quarter of the travel, who wouldn't?
