Looks like we are starting "again" to build Football on the coast, let's all have a say in how things are run. Get the members of your club together and pass a motion to the commitee that all CCF correspondence to your club is available to all members of the club particularly financial records and future planning information including financial plans of course. (which I believe it should be anyway). We need transparency in running the CCF. Please rally you delegate and commitee to make sure all correspondence is available to those interested in seeing Football survive on the coast. Also make sure the director's abide by the CCF Articles of Association.

If people say no then you have to remind them, as a member, that you are constitutely entitled to view these minutes and accounts. If they still say no then you have recourse with Soccer NSW. As what happens at our club (ourimbah-uni_ all you have to do is ask and you shall receive as all minutes are on record that can be accessed by members upon request.

Agreed marinermick this is correct in an ideal situation. Both local clubs I have been involved will not pass any " unapproved " ( to be approved by club commitee ) CCF correspondence to the members even though by law they are entitled to see them. Once it is a document of the club it is entitled to be seen by all members agreed. I think the CCF maybe slighly different though the members are the twenty two member clubs ( each club one body me thinks ) so I would think a majority resolution of the member club needs to be passed to get access to documents. - maybe I am wrong here though. I have personally requested then had to demand access to documents from the previous GM only to be denied them on numerous occasion's. At the present club I'm at we cannot even discuss current CCF issues " because of the damage it may do to football. " Three cheers Ourimbah I've heard it's a pretty good club.

What is going on at CCF?
Heard a couple of Ads on 2GO this week extolling the virtues of football but not as you know it. Directing listeners to the CCF website. Go to the web site and all you find is a notice declaring the office closed for Christmas.
What a waste of money the ad is. Apparently advertising blow out has been a significant contributor to the $560 000 dollar debt left post Keech.
Expect a general fee increase for 2007.
Where is ICE now who sang his praises and called me an idiot for questioning what was going on at CCF.

Check with your club execs, you will find fee increase is $20-00 per player and the debt is a lot more than $560k

Is all the information above all FACTS or scare tactics. I have no doubt there is a debt but I spoke to someone at a radio station and what about all the ads on Star about BeachFootball. Did CCF pay for it because it would be heaps with live reads etc that we heard. I know from my contact that 95% was contra and nothing wrong with that because that's how they got a team * 2 into the "defunct" comp so how do we know what CCF sepnt on Adverts with 2GO. He ain't there now and they are still spending or are they. Enough with scare tactics lets move on. We have - Sydney teams are calling and yes my 14yo for a lcoal team is costing more than $150 exlu playing kit, but he likes the team and the club.

The above is FACT as "informed" says check with your club rep.
If you have had calls from Sydney clubs and they are SYL or PYL it will cost nearly ten times the $150 you are quoting.

oziboy - unless you see the facts heresay can be 2mil for arguments sake. the fact is we need the system up here or we are up shit creek without a paddle. the worst thing is the juniors and parents that it effects in relation to them actually saying yes lets play football over rugby league and aussie rules and know that they are coming for the setup is in order. at present and the years that i have been on the coast it is a rollercoaster of a ride at pluim park. we don't need that any more and need to be moving forward with the decisions that they came up with the other nite.

Johnnywarren facts are debt is a bit over $1’050’000 from "club minutes". What is “ the system ” you are talking about. ? True we will lose players to sport’s that people can afford to play Rugby League, Aussie Rules and girls to netball etc etc , unfortunately we know this is going to happen. “ need to be moving forward with the decisions that they came up with the other nite. “. Can you tell me what other decisions were made beside’s putting up rego’s $20 across the board. ? Our club is saying rego’s for under 5’s will now be at least $100 - $110 which is ridiculous. Who is to blame for the all the above I belive “ The Directors”.

$100 rego for U/5? What an absolute farce this is.......
I also wonder what CCF are doing about the increasing overuse of fields, if they have anything in mind to cover for that?
How on earth the debt got that massive - which such huge fees - is beyond me....

Facts: Debt is over $ 1 million. Increase is $20.00 over last years fees. Overspending and Mismanagement are contributing factors, as is lack of leadership. Rep Football costs more than most people realise, all Senior players and coaching staff were paid in 2006 as they were in 2005.
Questions: Who was running the show, GM or Board ? If the board, who was in charge of the board? What is the present board doing about all this, from the Dec 19 meeting it appears very little, only thingss approved was the increase ($20) and a desire by the board to not signoff on last years figures? Which directors are paying creditors out of their own pockets and leaving others to sink? Why was an offer of assistance from SNSW to provide a GM/Admin person rejected? In other forums the Fin Dir is being held responcible for all this along with Keech, what were the other directors doing? Were they not told about the mounting debt or did they not understand?
Me seems to think its time for the old board members to come clean, tell the truth, not leave it to the new kids on the block to do all the talking like I am lead to believe is what happened at the december meeting, El Chair just got flustered, made silly comments about guarantees (he could not keep), he personally didn't know where staff spent money and he was lied to by others. Me smells a rat that seems very dead.

Rep Football costs more than most people realise, all Senior players and coaching staff were paid in 2006 as they were in 2005. i'll preface this with a comment that i'm neither living on the coast nor a registered player on the central coast let alone involved in this in any way, so either i'm completely clueless or untainted by personal involvement - spin it how you like so... if the above are the facts, i'll leave the questions and conjecture aside, and posit some thoughts of my own: - debt is not necessarily an indication of a problem. people borrow to invest, people borrow to develop - if simply being in debt was a shocker, then nobody would take on a mortgage. so long as you have the revenue stream to cover the debt then you're fine. "Overspending and Mismanagement are contributing factors, as is lack of leadership." what does that mean? what spending has been unnecessary, what should have been done instead? are there better ways the money could have been used to address the two things the association needs to do - staying afloat in football and financial terms? maybe spending isn't the problem - maybe it's the revenue streams that pose the problem. hence the fee increases, but also necessitating a serious look at how sponsorship and other revenue streams might be tapped.

Seeveral weeks ago I asked 2 questions but can't get answers. 1: Does CCF still have a box at the stadium - If so "Why" they aren't cheap and if there is such a debt inplace surely the money is better used to offset the debt. 2: Did CCF know when they invested in CCM they had a mounting debt and again if I am right - WHY? I also heard the Chair is "oh ah oh ah" person, a strong and forthright person is needed to drive the board and CCF and liaise with SNSW to get CCF back into the black in the long term because it won't be shortterm. Their was a finance director whose gone but there was also a person in the office that paid the accounts who surely is responsible as well and until this is resolved should be asked some pretty tough questions and the board has to make some pretty tough decisions about this person. Are they contracted if so "bye bye" if not talk to them .
Just my thoughts.

Yes agreed 'debt' is not neccesarily a bad thing but two things need to be looked at before going into further debt really you need to be able to service it and also debt should not be more than your assets. I think in both these cases CCF fall's down. How much is Pluim worth not more than $1 million me thinks. ? A fair bit of Empirebuilding has gone on I think over the past season and this has caused a massive blowout in spending via increased wages, group tax, super etc etc. The CCF income per year is always pretty constant with a small increase every year due to increasing numbers so to 'budget' shouldn't be too hard. I believe the 'revenue stream' was perfectly fine it just had to be managed properly, - sponsorship was a problem I believe the GM stuffed our relationship with the major sponsor. Yeah can the "BOX" at CCM if it still exists CCF certainly can't afford it. The person in the office who paid the accounts is not responsible ( as long as they paid the accoutns properly ) it is the people who incurred the expenses in the first place - did they do it with the director's permission . ? Lets swim not "sink".

Let's do away with all these 'insiders' giving information from board meetings in their first posts....why doesn't someone from the association stand up and give an honest account of where CCFootball stands?
