I've been looking around for information on outdoor summer competitions that are available, but haven't been able to find any useful information. I understand for the 2007/2008 season ground restrictions and other things are still yet to be finalised, however I was wondering what summer comps people have played in before and what is usually offered?
I read in another thread that 'CCF are going to run one starting in October. 6-a-side at Pluim;'Juniors Tuesday, Mens/Womens Wed and Mixed Friday. Info hasnt been released yet. But thats what I have been told.'
Are there any other comps that you know of?

Kanwal ran a comp at Lake Haven. Killarney have always had a big junior comp but it was greatly reduced last year because of lighting problems.

Kanwal moved the comp from lakehaven to warnervale oval for last summer, was a pretty decent comp from what i heard. i heard that budgie had a quite successful comp too. i dont think mingara will be running again very soon. it seems like pluim is the way to go. i'll be playin a few indoor comps again this summer, and maybe the pluim comp too.

Venue? Surely can't be Pluim as it is in pretty poor shape and needs some work before next season.

One off team registration fee of $800. Full size goals isnt confirmed as yet. $80 per season is not a bad deal please don't go for full goals - it will take the skill and fun out of six-a-side people will just take pot shots from everywhere and most times the keeper will be chasing the ball behind the goals slowing play and diminishing game time

a poll has been put on the CCF website to determine public opinion - and make sure comp is what the community wants. Vote for your preference.

I wonder how the regos are going for the CCFA's summer sixes?
Pretty slow I would imagine. I was thinking of putting a side in but the rego fee of $800 is ridiculous.
Killarney comp used to make about 20 grand, $30 rego and $5 a week. You couldn't get a team in it was so popular.

its actually pretty reasonable. Works out between $70 - $80pp for a 14 week comp + finals. No weekly ref fees. When you pay a $30 rego fee then $5 a week or something for refs - it works out cheaper.

I guess people have less problems if the cost is defrayed over 14 weeks. The $100 or so dollars upfront per player is still a considerable barrier to entry even though there may be a saving in the long run.

Fair call.
You can pay 50% deposit ($400) to register and the remainin payment isn't required until round 3. So gives people a bit of a payment plan.

Good points about it being cheaper in the long run and delayed payment plan. Communication has always been a problem with CCFA. Why do we see it on the forum and not on the web site?

OK the 50% payment is mentioned. Doesn't mention you have until week three to pay it off.
Hopefully some of us forumites who now have this info will enter teams.

Is anyone else on here putting a side together for the Men's Wednesday night Summer Sixes?
I've got some of the boys from Wyoming AA1 in a side.
