Central Coast Lightning today became nsw super youth league club champions, lets all celebrate, maybe not, no promotion, normally in the past promotion to the premier youth league and stronger competition, Marconi's, Sydney Uniteds, Blacktown etc. The reason why no promotion, money, we have none thanks to the incompetence of the previous board some who are still elected and the wonderful previously appointed general manager appointed by the very same board members, do I need to mention his name. The senior lightning squads are also doing well and possibly make the semis. So the question I ask, were do we go from here, what pressure are the current lightning board applying to nsw football to get us in the top leagues in the next year or so, the players have done their job and yet we are let down by in competence at the administration level, I say get rid of them, bring in a whole new team of people who can drive this and our boys rightfully in the right league.

If it's part of the NSWF regulations that the champions get promoted instantly than NSWF would have their hands tied, but I dare say there's more to it than that.

One of which is financial viability BTW....off topic a touch but has relevance. Has anyone heard anything, rumour or otherwise, about a CC club being invited to join the Northern NSW state league in the next couple of years? CC is a different Fed. to Newcastle so I doubt it myself. I heard rumours the invite was for a proposed revamped league.

This is not quite right. Winning the SYL club championship has seen the boys teams promoted in the past. However, for next years cpmpetition Football NSW changed the rules and have aligned the juniors and seniors. For our boys to play PYL the mens team have to be in the NSW Premier League. On Curious' topic there has been talk for the past couple of years about "Thunder" being created to play in the Northern NSW Federation. Apparently it is on the drawing boards again. Sticking point is the realtionship between Northern Feds and NSW Football. Playing in Northern NSW comp would be a huge commitment for parents of kids. Hell of a lot of travel involved, Tamworth, Coffs etc.

Correct Off the ball and tell me this, Macarthur do not have a team in the NSW Premier league but they are going to be promoted and their youth, they finished well down in the club championship and are below our seniors in the super league, again it comes back to money and the incompetence of previous CCF board, the previous general manager, no planning, no brains, you only have to look at pluim park facility, its never changed for years, still the same old green shed on stilts, still the same old dressing sheds, oh yes we did fix the roof at a cost of $300,000. They are local board who have no business background whatsoever, never been outside of the central coast and pretend to know something about football and do have the best interests of the kids at heart.

I was talking about the Snr state league. Not the youth state league (SYL) though that's been talked about in the past as well.
Which club was that Mick?

Which club was that Mick? yes, senior state league budgie played in the NNSW comp a few years back Yeah they were told (by SNSW?) they couldn't stay in NNSW comp. FNSW has decided, wrongly I believe, that the youth teams will play in a parallel universe to the senior team. This means that if Macarthur Rams and Canterbury Bankstown are promoted to NSWPL (very strange goings on in themselves) then their youth teams play on PYL. What this will mean over time is the disctinction betwenn youth grades will mean nothing ... with teams in say 1st division (like say Spirit or Schofields) with teams that could play at the top level but kept down, and teams at top of NSWPL like say Bankstown City Lions with crap youth teams in PYL, and not a scratch on the lower league teams. I give it 3 seasons...
