i am positive that any game that would have an impact on semis or relegation will be replayed
we once played a major semi that was abondoned at half time because of rain
we were up 1-0 and then lost the reply 2-0
then lost the finals
the conditions at avoca were some of the worst i have seen and their referee wanted to keep playing
i pointed out to him that kariong does not want to play for safety concerns and if he came back on the park he may well be liable if someone gets hurt
he told me to bugger to off and that he was a lawyer
in which i replied "you must not be a very good lawyer if you are not aware of the consequences"

You have to wonder with a game that has a result that can change the final four - that a ref couldn't even turn up.
When do we officially hear about the result of this game?

we played in conditions worse then the mariners vs roar game last year! @ourimbah which alot of you all know how well it handles rain we won 1nil i got my 20th goal @ kanwal which ment alot as it may have been my last game for my club. I did a belly slide from 18yd to just shy of half way. well done ryan and budge good luck You're dead right, conditions were appalling. I almost had to call for scuba gear in goals in the AA3 game before yours! It was incredible that in the AA2 game prior, the talk was how dry the ground seemed!!!! Actually our AA7 boys did OK only losing 0-1 then considering 3-4 of them had played a fair bit of the AA3 game before.

That will make next weeks results very interesting then. Woy Woy will be 3 points behind us and our for and against is +4 better than theres. Anyone find the Toukley v Kanwal result from sunday? I'm assuming it went ahead as the rain seemed to be moving from sth to nth up the coast. It was dry at Ourimbah when I got official word that our game was canned due to the downpour at Fagans! Then we got it not long after. We've now been given a 0-0 result as CCF have deemed it to be of no consequence to the finals. Anyway I'm guessing Toukley would have got all 3 pts there which by my calculations should make the table P W D L PTS KIN 17 10 7 0 37 BER 17 10 5 2 35 TOU 18 8 7 3 31 SEU 17 7 5 5 26 OUR 18 5 8 5 23 WOY 17 6 5 6 23 TER 18 6 4 8 22 AVO 18 6 4 8 22 GOS 17 3 5 9 14 KAN 17 0 2 15 2 Unless I'm wrong, the catch up games are WOY vs GOS at WOY KIN vs KAN at KIN BER vs SEU at BER I'm really hoping Gosford put an effort in to try and beat Woy Woy and leave us deservedly above them on the final table. Can't see it though (not that I have any credibility to comment on GC seeing both our games against them have been wash outs this season!). Southern are really going to have it tough not only beating BV, but then if they lose, then sweating on Woy Woy only getting a draw or a loss vs GC. If not for that atrocious hand ball decision vs Toukley, we'd be in the mix there as well and definitely having to replay our washed out game vs GC there's always next season

Chimni - what team/grade are you again? Just wondering if a referee was appointed. It may be that a referee was appointed but was unable to make it (and they were unable to find a replacement), or that Sproddy didn't check the tables when appointing, or that he simply couldn't find a referee. Not trying to stick up for the referees, just offering some potential reasons. I can't blame you for being frustrated about it!

Kariong WAA4S....but it was Avoca who needed the win to get in the top 4. We ended up using the Avoca coach as a ref, who understandably, didn't want to stop play when it started pouring (they were 1-0 up).
I know its dangerous, but it was kinda fun playing in the rain!

Most of the time we get there and we are told the ref didn't show. I don't know if the ref's association is notified, either way we don't actually find out until 10 mins before the game. The only time we have a ref is at Kariong. The exception is two or tthree other games out of the whole season that I remember us having a black and white ref. There was bobby pin nazi and an old guy who kept getting in the way and the young kid who kept getting in the way. Mind you everytime we don't have a ref is more money in our kitty.

Chimni - yeah, some of my most memorable matches have been in the rain...such as one game in the 16s at SEU where I swear most of the pitch was under water. Great fun! You do have a trio appointed this Sunday..... Teriyaki - usually there's a legitimate reason for referees not showing, however we do get referees just not showing with no notice, We can't do anything about that, though, unless we're notified - I used to do the appointments, and the number of times I'd get to a ground, only to have the ground official there complaining about referees not turning up all season.... 'Well, have you let anybody know?' 'Uhh, erm, well...........no" lol........Oh well, such is life. Kitty money is never a bad thing Good luck to those who begin their finals campaign this weekend! Good luck to those who are battling it out for a finals berth too. I have to admit, I half expected the MAA5 comp to wind up with about 4 teams in equal 4th though!

Often referees do inform people (the right people) when they can't make a game, like the rest they do have lives outside of football and can get injured, it's just that information doesn't always go to other people that would like to know.

The table released from the CCF still hasn't fixed the Ourimbah-Woy Woy game. WTF? If we miss out on a finals spot because of that, I'm going to be very pissed off!!!!!

Well, I just found out that my final game of the season has been cancelled!! NOT HAPPY!! Only because it won't impact on the teams in the final series. Games that do impact on the final top 4 have been given priority.

With the draw that we got today, we should be in the semis.

Unlucky to the Kariong girls who lost 4-1 to Southern in a scoreline that does not reflect the game.
Kariong were up 1-0 and then missed a penalty. The keeper saved the ball and from the ensuing play Southern scored.
They also had a centre midfielder that looked and played like a man. She (cough) scored a goal from thirty metres with her left foot and later slotted a penalty into the keeper's top left corner with her right foot.
Without that one player who could boot the ball a mile and take corners that hit the middle of the six yard line every time, the girls would have no doubt won this game.
Top season girls and that game was by far the best I have seen you all play.
Look out 2008!

BER 3-0 SEU, KIN 1-1 KAN WOY 4-0 GOS
This leaves us needing to win our catch-up game on Wednesday Night against Woy Woy, to make the Semi's. It is shit that it is on Wednesday because we already have a list of injuries and people unavailable to play.

Guys, just a couple of points on the ref not turning up. On average I have about 70 referees on a Sunday available for appointments at the start of the week. Games are appointed in an order of Priority. MPL1 (1st and Res), 1st Div (1st and Res) WPL. After that we look at all age. We then also have to look at the availability of referees. Most play, coach, manage, have kids that play and we have to work around those comittments first. Each Wednesday night the referees appointments are loaded onto the appointments page of www.ccsoccerref.com . If you have an important game and you feel you really need a ref, you can ask your club to contact me in advance and I will do my best to get you one. Several Clubs have made this request this year. In the second half of the year I look at the comp tables each Monday night when I do the appointments. We try and get the important games covered. Then what happens is by Saturday night I have on average 15 refs pull out for valid reasons - Sick, called to work, Injured on Saturday etc. and we try and cover whats left. Not a perfect solution but we are getting there. We will run a new referees course on February. Ideally we need about 140 refs to cover the 180 games on a Sunday. Anyway hope the info helps. Good luck to those in the finals Darren Sprod Chairman Central Coast Football Referees

Thanks Darren
You have the hardest job around organising so many referees.
I can imagine that they are never happy, argumentative, and wants always maintain control and exert their influence over the referee's association.
Having one referee in a room would be difficult (looking at you omni) but having twenty would be a nightmare.
