Seems there is a new club in the offing according to last week's Express.
Mt Penang Football Club placed an add seeking expressions of interest for coaches, managers, clubs, organisations, parents and players (i guess that covers just about everyone) to play rep football in the Senior Confederations League and 1st Division Youth League in 2008.
I presume this is the Northern NSW Comp.
Does that mean we will have Lightning, Thunder and Mt Penang looking after the rep scene next year?
Will clean out the cupboard for our club comp.

I think they will be in the development youth league. - the setup is being ran by tony gallagher in conjunction with 4-4-2.

Latest news on Mount Penang Football Club - unfortunately
"Just to advise you Penang F.C were unsuccesful in its application to join NSW Football for season 2008."
All clubs selected are exisiting and all based in the Sydney region."

To all the many hundreds of people on the Central Coast and beyond. Thankyou for your expression of interest towards the proposed new football club Penang F.C. Has you have already been informed Penang F.C. was not selected into the youth leagues of NSW Football, todate we have not been advised of the reasons but when we are informed I will post on this site. What we have proved with the number of interested parties his the need for another club and lets hope this will happen in the near future maybe not Penang F.C. but some other club. We believe it,s a sad day for real football people on the Central Coast.

Mt Penang might be a feeder club for Bolton Wanders. I'm confused how is Mt Penang a feeder club for Bolton Wanders? In what capacity does Mt Penang exist as a club? In what comp do they play? What players do they have to feed to Bolton? |

Toni Gallagher has many contacts with people over in England, A lot of the time he is overseas helping players get into teams or academy's. Every player that trials is under the name of Toni Gallagher and 442.

So are you alleging that the Mt Penanag venture was nothing more than an attempt to get as many of the young players on the Coast under the one roof and then offered for trial OS using Toni Gallagher's and 442's contacts?Please explain your comment as you seem to be making out it is imprpoer, somehow wrong, not in the best intrests of the players, somehow a sham. |

What a shame this didn't go ahead. It could have been refreshing. Lightning look set to reappoint one or two of the tired old coaches from former seasons, so a bit of competition might have livened things up. Why can't the club form a team anyway? Maybe there would be a place for them in the Newcastle comp and it would give them some experience for another try next season...
