POSITION DESCRIPTION
TITLE: Team Management Team (3 Positions)
DEPARTMENT: High Performance Unit
LOCATION: Sydney
REPORTS TO:Head of HP
START DATE:1st October 2004
END DATE:
(if applicable)To coincide with relevant World Cup/Olympic Campaigns
Purpose of Role (Why does this role exist?)
•Planning and management of National team activities, and communication of team activities
Key Areas of Responsibility (Over what areas does this role have responsibility and accountability?)
•Long term planning for National team activities
•Budgeting and financial control of national team activities
•Management of touring teams
Key Outcomes (What will this role achieve? What are the measures of success?)
•Successful forward planning of all team activities
•Achievement of budget forecasts
•Achievement of nominated success measures of National teams
Knowledge, skills and behaviour required (Competency)
•Detailed tour planning experience
•Acceptance of budgetary responsibility
•Ability to manage teams with firmness yet harmoniously
•Ability to work with coaches and players to achieve objectives successfully
Major interactions (eg ….with ASA departments, ….with external bodies)
•Interaction with National Coaches and team support staff
•Interaction with players
•Coordination with Soccer operations and Event planning department
•Close cooperation with Finance Department, Media & Communications, and Commercial Operation Units
Unique Criteria (eg unique work hours, significant travel, significant periods of work remote from office)
•Availability to travel with national teams, including extended period on-road
•General availability to team members, including after hours
