The FFA have a press conference at 5pm today.
This was on the World Game website:
There is increased speculation that Australia coach Frank Farina is set to be sacked by Football Federation Australia (FFA), with a decision expected within the next few days.
The FFA would not confirm or deny the news, but SBS understands an announcement is imminent.
Farina has returned to Australia from Germany, following the disappointing FIFA Confederations Cup campaign, in which the Socceroos suffered losses to the host nation, Argentina and Tunisia.
He has been in charge of the national team since August 1999, and despite the failure of the Socceroos to qualify for the 2002 World Cup, Farina was re-appointed national coach in December 2001.
His contract is due to expire at the end of the current campaign to qualify for the 2006 finals.
Last week in Germany, FFA chief executive John O'Neill said Farina would see out his contract.

Let's hope we don't lose Lawrie to the national team.

Sacking him just before the World Cup qualifiers to me would be madness, lets see if he can get us to Germany.
Giving a new manager such a short time to prepare the team would be silly, but then it could have a positive effect on the players and get them all working harder to prove their worth in the team?
