www.foxsports.com.au/The above article at fox sports doesn't look good for Mucalik. edit.....can't link directly for some reason so I pasted it below. Musialik cited by FFA By Tom Smithies and David Davutovic September 26, 2007 NEWCASTLE Jets midfield player Stuart Musialik will tomorrow face an A-League tribunal after it was alleged he called Melbourne defender Roddy Vargas a "black monkey".
The explosive claim comes after the two teams drew 2-2 last Friday and Football Australia yesterday charged the 22-year-old with using "offensive, insulting or abusive language and/or gestures".
It's believed that Chilean-born Vargas claimed the insult was made during the game after he had fouled Musialik and Vargas's allegation is contained within referee Matthew Breeze's match report.
It's understood Vargas sought Breeze out after the game to insist the allegation was reported to Football Federation Australia.
The authorities will seek testimony from other players on the pitch at the tribunal and it's thought that other Victory players are prepared to give evidence on his behalf.
Newcastle officials were last night issuing a blanket "no comment" about the allegation, citing the sensitivity of the issue and the need to investigate the matter themselves internally.
The FFA also refused to comment.
Musialik actually scored the goal that gave Newcastle a 2-0 lead before it was pegged back by last season's champions.
Even at 22, the midfield player is a senior member of Newcastle's side and has played a key role in the Olyroos' bid to qualify for next year's Olympics.
He was a train-on member of the Socceroos World Cup squad at its pre-Germany camps in Melbourne and Holland, and hugely impressed Guus Hiddink at the time.
If proven, the alleged insult will mirror that made by Lazio's Sinisa Mihajlovic for calling Arsenal's Patrick Vieira a "black monkey" in a Champions League game in 2000. Mihajlovic was banned for two games.
This case will be a major test case for the game's authorities here, the first such serious allegation since the A-League began in 2004.
Since the infamous case in which Collingwood's Damien Monkhorst called Essendon's Michael Long a "black b......" the AFL has reformed its code of conduct and has been vigilant to ensure racial issues do not arise.
In 1998, Canterbury rugby league star Barry Ward was fined $10,000 - half of it suspended on appeal - after racially abusing Anthony Mundine, while cricketer Darren Lehmann was banned for five limited-overs matches for referring to the Sri Lankan team as "black c....".I hope the signs of the FFA trying to keep it quiet with "no comments" don't continue.

fox articleThe above article at fox sports doesn't look good for Mucalik. Beginning with NEWCASTLE Jets midfield player Stuart Musialik will tomorrow face an A-League tribunal after it was alleged he called Melbourne defender Roddy Vargas a "black monkey".I hope the signs of the FFA trying to keep it quiet with "no comments" don't continue. i think that's bollocks - all the early reports said 'f***ing monkey' not 'black monkey'. if it were black monkey all the claims about intent are washed away, but i don't think that's what he said else the melbourne fans would have been on it straight away. interestingly as well, davutovic (one of the authors of this article) is getting himself in all sorts of shit at the moment with terrible journalism - bagging culina for arrogance with the man united comment- the next week, praising culina for his media acumen with the man united comment- today misreporting the alleged comment and writing about how it was aimed at a 'knights' player (see today's tele)... basically i reckon they could get a monkey (no pun intended) with a typewriter to do a better job. 'it was the best of days, it was the blerst of days...'

Bollocks or not Dibo....each comment is as bad as the other.
He wouldn't be cited by the FFA for calling anyone a monkey if it wasn't seen as racial. The only ones that know what was said are Vargas, Musalik & anyone within earshot. Going by that article, some team members will be speaking for him.

Bollocks or not Dibo....each comment is as bad as the other. agreed, but one leaves open the possibility of a (paper thin) no racial intent defence, whereas the other is obviously racist in intent.

Agreed. The difference in being an obvious prick or being able to argue the fact. In the context of it being in football, after all the similar overseas trouble, I'm sure comparisons will be made. The bugga has a history since junior days of trash talking & running, so it's a wonder he hasn't been caught before.

If he did call Vargas a "black monkey" I'd be happy if he got 6 weeks or more.

Either it’s made up, it’s a post-facto bullshit story or the Jets are so incompetent they’re looking to hire the same media management people as Mahmoud Ahmedinejad. We’ve hardly been swimming in strenuous denials now, have we? It’s not like there’s nothing on the public record to respond to (after the Smithies + Davutovic hack job the other day…). That said, the case is yet to be heard, and I don’t intend to prejudge it. I think at the very least, he’s been incredibly stupid to use the word monkey.

That come from the jest forum from a supporter who heard from someone else that one of Musalik's team mates told him in a shop ? Not a lot of credence in that one Mick.
Especially considering the bust up happend after a Vargas slide tackle from behind. The only thing he was climbing over was the grass & a players ankles.
