Did anyone read the dribble in the Daily Telegraph today by David Davutovic suggesting we need to smuggle some young Brazilian kid into an a-league team, watch him grow into a superstar, then get him to gain an Australian citizenship so he can play for the Socceroos???
Am I the only person who thinks this guy is a f***ing nutjob???

I read this article this afternoon, my immediate thought, was "this guy can't be serious" it's absolute dribble.
But, it does put things into perspective, wouldn't it be the same for a young Croatian lad moving over here and to end up playing for us, or what would of happened if that "next Rooney" kid ended up playing for the socceroos?
same reaction?

Well we had Aussie "Guus" for the last World Cup. How about "Aussie Ronaldo Luis Nazário de Lima" or something for 2014.

I think a lot of the flair, creativity, and technique that South Americans have in football is developed from within their own culture and environment. Take a South American kid, have him grow up here, and he'll play like an Australian. And possibly be on the wing for Parramatta Eels or play for Essendon!

If there was a Brazilian good enough to make the Socceroo starting squad, wouldn't you think he would attempt to break into the Brazilian National Squad. Also, if they were that good, why would they want to come to the A-League. Wouldn't there be a better chance of being scouted in the Brazilian or Argentinian leagues? Stupid Article!
