The result is pretty harsh on Adelaide IMO. They deserved at least a draw from that game. They were all over the Jest in the first half, but couldn't find the back of the net (The story of the league so far). IMO Adelaide were rather poor and flat without Nathan Burns in the middle of the park. They will desperately need him back as soon as possible and I can see them possibly struggling during the Olyroo games and/or should he get injured. It's quite the opposite form their pre-season form, and leaves them still looking for their first win of the season.
Scumcastle finally score from open play and showed potential of them being to grind out results tonight. They were far form their attractive best tonight. This was even realised by commentator Mike Cockerill, who on several occasions during the game mentioned that they aren't the entertainers they were last year. As many expected Mario Jardel was terribly unfit. IMO he only really did one decent thing all night; that flick over his head to get past Costanzo. Scumcastle's crossing was poor as well. They will really need to fix this aspect of their attack up, if they are to utilize the effect of Mario Jardel properly. Even though he is a c*nt, Joel Griffiths was immense tonight.This guy just never stopped working, and IMO, along with Covic, they have been there best this season by far. Denni was very poor. He gave the ball away far too often and he is absolutely shite compared to Nick Carle. GVE was correct in subbing him off during the first half. Decent crowd as well; just over 13 600 iirc.

Agostino is pretty average IMO. It'd be very hard to disagree with that. For a man so highly regarded, he has been poor so far this season IMO. I only remember him getting two shots all night. One was blocked, and the other was a free header from 8 yards out that he put wide. However in saying that, he was playing against a good defensive performance from the jest centre backs. Jade North has improved significantly since being given the captaincy by GVE and Adam Griffiths had his best game in a gold shirt IMO. I still don't think he's good enough to move into the midfield with Stuart Musialik when Stephen Laybutt is fit. He gives the ball away too often to play in that role. |

Denni was very poor but Elrich was even a step below him.
The jest played poor but scambled in defence to get the win.
Anyone else think jardel looked like he was carrying 50 pound sand bags on both feet when he attempted (it was only an attempt) to run? Gawd he is slowwwwwwww. I can't say he did anything bad for the 20 mins he had, he just didn't do anything.

i think adelaide will do better than the jets this season, so it spreads the points better... if we keep picking up points and the other teams keep sharing them we should finish in the top 4 thanks to our great start

Crowd impressive Result a disaster Jardel, Danni & Agostino.............oops It's hard to argue with two of those points. Besides the result part, you're absolutely spot on IMO. Denni was shithouse last night and GVE practically told it how it was at half-time. Andy "Dickhead" Harper still couldn't get his head around the fact that he had a shit game, criticizing GVE's decision to sub him off. As I said before about Jardel, Scumcastle need to fix up their crosses. Jardel is not going to run form half way with the ball at his feet and beat 4 defenders and slot it home. The only way he is going to score is from getting onto the end of balls into the box. |
