Amateur players can get paid...I believe being professional is when it's full time. Same with refs I think?

yeah, when they talk about 'professional referees' they're talking full-time referees.
I believe there's some in the NRL - and on good money too, if I'm not mistaken.

Pretty easy game for Qld really, great to see 2 young local players step up and do well. A few years ago there would have been nowhere for them to go.
If Qld could get rid of the lanky Brazillian twat and replace him with someone who could actually play they would be a good side IMHO

Proffesional refs would be good. All refs are currently part-time in a-league.

25th min, Muscat was cautioned for dissent in the 12th mine, and corica just got sent off for apparently deliberately studding somebody in the thigh (yet a player nearly got studded in the face earlier, only to suffer a free kick)....
Interesting stuff....

*blank stare*
Sydney vs. Melbourne, two biggest teams in the country....... he's actually right y'know. Check the TV ratings for both games later in the week - there's a reason they put this game on Saturday night ahead of ours.

But even Fox sports have hyped up our match more than Syd vs victory. We've had all the publicity with kwasnik and lawrie doing there bit and noone has seemed to give a stuff about sydney as shown by only 18,436 turning up. almost disgraceful. They may be the 2 biggest clubs in prestige and population they can draw from but in terms of current quality and the entertainment of this match (so far) they shouldn't be.

18,436 in a city of 3m??? -f***ing disgrace. Way to run a football club assholes.
Corica deserved the red IMHO and a couple of extra weeks. It was deliberate and he lunged at the guy.
Bolton lets them down again.
Oh well, NSW has a proper football club to watch tomorrow
