Queensland captain Craig Moore has suggested the Roar's recent upturn in fortunes has not received the accolades it deserves.
Heading into this Friday's home meeting with Melbourne Victory, the Queenslanders have not been beaten since the last time they faced the reigning Hyundai A-League champion at Telstra Dome in September.
During its mid-season renaissance, the Roar has collected 14 points from a possible 18 and might have even enjoyed a perfect record after being pegged back for draws against Newcastle and Perth.
Frank Farina's side might not be creating as many chances as earlier this year but has developed a more ruthless streak in front of goal while also keeping successive clean sheets against Adelaide and Wellington.
"I don't think we got recognition of the way we played against Adelaide. Basically they had scored eight goals in their previous two games and we limited them to one or two chances, and nothing was really said about it," said Moore.
"It was (reported) like it was a poor Adelaide performance instead of a good Queensland performance. We're pleased with the way things are going along. We're just going about it quietly."
Queensland is expected to retain the 4-3-3 shape despite left winger Michael Zullo's absence following his Qantas Australia under-23 call-up to face Iraq in this weekend's crucial qualifier for the Beijing Olympics.
Marcinho is in pole position to replace Zullo after training in that position on Thursday, however, Farina could still spring a surprise by naming Mitch Nichols in his starting line-up.
Nichols has played four games in eight days for the Qantas Young Socceroos in Vietnam including 79 minutes in heavy conditions against South Korea on Wednesday and does not arrive back in Brisbane until the morning of the game.
One name that's certain to be on the team sheet is that of beanpole Brazilian striker Reinaldo, who became a father for the first time during the week with the birth of his baby son.
"He's been working extremely hard all season and playing well with maybe not the rewards of the goals. But the last couple of games it's been nice to see him on the scoresheet," Moore said of Reinaldo.
"Marcinho as well has scored a couple of goals of late and you can see both of them growing in confidence and just wanting to be in the position to have attempts at goal a lot more often which is pleasing."
