16th November, 2005.
We all know what happened. Just take a minute and think about how wonderful that night truly was, but also just how far we've come. Also think how amazing it is that the winning penalty kicker that night is now playing for the Mariners.
*ponders*
Ahhhhhhh, life is grand.
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

serious14 I was there along with a few mates, did not sleep when back to the pub after. Next day still in Aussie gear and smelling of booze, smoke, BO went to work as was our mates agreement to not change.
Had to catch the train as I was still well over the limit, to this day have never experienced anything like it before or since. Mates and I still talk about it as apart from birth of kids as best day (well night anyway) of life. When you meet people who were there some kind of bond formed by people at Telstra that night .............. mate it is hard to put into words.
As best I can I have played football for over 45 years, highs Lows, many many lows. That night with the JW tribute just before ............. mate ................ still cannot put the right words together but apart from birth of kids best night of my life and when I am down I think about that night to lift me.
Thanks serious14 for the remind I feel happy after a s*it day at work.

A damned special night for sure. I have never witnessed such passionate supporting enmasse, yet surprisingly no incidents.
Due to my stupidity I hurt myself when Bresciano scored the goal of Harry's mistimed/perfectly executed pass, and my night was curtailed after that.
I stayed the end of the match, refusing to budge, and can still remember my mate's face when the final goal went in from the penalty. And I got all choked up too, I am proud to admit.
I can remember seeing everyone's face as we came out of the Stadium, a whole lot of us all very euphoric.
For me the highlight was watching one H. Kewell in full flight. And watching the crowd on his side of the field go up like a Mexican Wave as he ran up the sideline, and everyone standing up in anticipation of another display of football mastery.
As the penalties were being taken, I looked high up into the stands of that huge stadium and there people right up the back of both of them jumping up and down yelling and screming, waving scarves, banners whatever. All the way to the far back of each stadium. Absolute mayhem.
Has anyone had a chance to speak with Viddy or Aloisi about what they experienced?
