and someone from the future has updated wikipedia... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pim_Verbeek... On the 06-12-2007, Verbeek held a press conference in Sydney, Australia with FFA Heads Frank Lowy & Ben Buckley, announcing he had signed a 2 year contract with Football Federation Australia reportedly worth 2.4M (AUD) per year...

Hmmm the dutch love affair continues, have a question mark over him as manager, but I guess time will tell.

And the criticism begins......
Ange Postecoglou is giving it to him on Fox Sports News now - newsflash Ange, you're no world class coach yourself mate, at least let this "Pim" character coach a game or two before you lay into him.

*whistles* don't know enough about any of them to care. so long as baan keeps doing the thing with the overall technical direction and that starts to come across to the a-league, the olyroos and other junior teams keep developing well and the roos qualify for the world cup, i kinda don't care who's the suit in the dugout. the whole future of the FFA doesn't depend on the coach of the socceroos anymore.

I think this is a good move. He is willing to base himself here and has a great knowledge of Asia. He was also Hiddink's assistant in 2002 taking South Korea to the World Cup semi's.

Like Ange is a good coach ............. only person who thinks Ange is above pathetic ................ is Ange. Heard Robbie Hater also bagging out appointment agian says old mate GA .............. should be coach.............. only Cockup ,Ange & Hater otherwise known as three stooges say GA is above pathetic. Only concern I have is the tail wagging the dog in how much influence, Baan had over BB as for me on paper Troussier was better but Verbeek is OK, both IMO better than orginal choice of D A
Taken from an SBS article today Intense lobbying from the FFA's Dutch technical director Rob Baan and the backing of former Socceroos coach Guus Hiddink played a key role in Verbeek pipping Troussier.
