"It truly was a scam," Associated Press quoted a Peruvian aviation authority spokeswoman as saying. "They tricked the control tower, saying they were low on fuel." The passengers were allowed to attend the game, which Gambia won, but the aircraft remained in Piura, in Peru's north, while authorities determined what penalty to levy against the airline. now this is what i call dedication to your national team!

There were 289 of them!

Not only 289 of them but wouldn't they have Diplomatic Immunity I saw this article - good stuff - it's only the under 17s!
