It's like this every 4 years but this cycle in particular there are a lot of youngsters with the potential to become something special this World Cup. All the greats are best known for the domination of World Cups, and these are some of the guys I think could be doing that for the first of a number of times in 2006.
Wayne Rooney - England - 20 Lionel Messi - Argentina - 18 Robinho - Brazil - 22 (by June)
Who else do people rate as the ones to watch? France has some wonder kid I think...but I dont know if he is first XI yet.

Rooney will only be dangerous if he can be bothered to play! Being his first world cup he should be pumped! If England do well Lampard will have a good World Cup too!
You are bound to get some unheard of African to shine as usual too!

My tip is to keep an eye out for Lucas Podolski, the young German striker. I think he will have a big tournament.

Arjen Robben turns 22 in Jan. I reckon he could turn it on for Holland.
Messi is meant to possess actual real magical powers, but I suppose his reported genius is yet to be proved.
Ronney has the talent but is still likely to be sent off at any moment.
What ever happened to Freddy Adu? He was meant to be a bit of a freak, but I'm not even sure he's broken into the Yank Senior NT yet?

Adu is a gun and will be playing in Europe within the next 3 years. Thats my prediction. He has just been called into the national squad, so will probably come off the bench in Germany, but hopefully he will start.

Yea they talked about Adu a bit on Golazo last night, he's still on fire for DC United and he's playing for the national team.
