An Australian property developer has stuffed up the English football final.
The English Football Association will transfer the FA Cup Final from Wembley Stadium to its reserve venue of Millennium Dome in Cardiff, the Multiplex Group announced today.
Multiplex said it was disappointed with the decision and it continues to work towards completing its reconstruction of Wembley National Stadium at the earliest possible date.
"We understand that the FA has made this decision on the basis that it requires 100 per cent certainty that the venue will be fully functional by May 13, 2006, the scheduled date for the 2006 FA Cup Final," Multiplex said in a statement.
Last month a senior Multiplex manager gave the group a 70 per cent chance of completing the stadium - the spiritual home of English football - in time for the FA Cup final.
Multiplex, which announces its half-year results later this week, has previously provided a wide range of scenarios regarding the losses from its Wembley project - including one that sees the group's 2005/06 full year profit being wiped out.

no surprises there - they have been behind schedule ever since the word go! Oh well we will have to wait a bit longer to see the best stadium in the world complete!

not many good english tradies left in london as its full of east europeans. wembley has been a rort since it started, multiplex have been taken for a very expensive ride, the stadium will be awesome when eventually finished though (it's a pity about wembley itself - which resembles the 3rd world in places - a shit hole)

You are right - it is in a crappy part of town

apparently it's being done up too but you'd never notice, it's also known for a very high tuberculosis infection rate these days, nice.
