If it's another African team it should be Egypt, if not anyone but Uruguay they don't have a divine right to be there.

If they do drop out it must be who ever came next in their group, circa Denmark in the 1992 Euros who replace the war torn Yugoslavia - and they went on to it!

Yeah if war prevents the Ivory Coast from fielding a team, it must come from another African team. Certainly not bloody Uruguay - they LOST to us, and don't deserve a second chance. Shame if the Ivory Coast don't compete, I was looking forward to seeing how the likes of Argentina would deal with them. Surely, most of their playing and coaching staff are either out of the country doing their thing in Europe or Asia, or should have enough resources to get out if all hell breaks loose. Could they not compete as a team in exile/ seeking refuge?

Are the mariners a country? ;D Michael Beauchamp to Australia: "I'm sorry to inform my fellow countrymen that I must leave the Socceroo's defence to the geriatrics now that my beloved club has entered the world cup. Playing in front of the 14 travelling Marinators will mean the world to me and smashing the Aussies in the semis will be the highlight of my career."

Oh dear, does that mean we might miss out having to watch more of Drogshites antics at the WC?
