Anyone seen this Theo kid play for Southampton?
He hasnt had a run for Arsenal yet but Sven wants to take him as back up for Rooney at the World Cup at 17 yrs of age... Little risky for a team with a genuine chance of getting to the final stages.

At the expense of Jermaine Defoe.. what is Sven thinking? His 2 first choice strikers are injured leaving Crouch and Walcott as possible starters. As much as I like Crouch I can't see England getting very far unless the Midfielders contribute with some goals.

I think taking 4 strikers is a bigger risk especially when 1 looks like a dead set no show and the other hasn't played for months. Theo has quite a bit of pace and has never proved himself at premiership level so expecting him to perform at international level is a big ask. Defoe should have been in the squad IMO.
But I remember an 18 year old Owen with very little experience in France '98 and he scored quite possibly the goal of the tournament, so time will tell.
I agree thou, the midfield needs to be strong and chip in with a few goals. I'll be having Frank Lampard in my dream team when the game is available on the FIFA World Cup site.

And they have Joe Cole who can play mid & striker so they kind of have 5 strikers if necessary. Still risky...
