On another note this made me laugh.
Linesman ejected from Paris final One of the linesmen for the Champions League final has been replaced after being photographed wearing a Barcelona shirt on Monday.
Norwegian Ole Hermann Borgan wore the shirt for a photoshoot with his local newspaper, Drammens Tidende.
Borgan had insisted he would remain impartial and Uefa initially stuck by him before deciding to replace him with his compatriot Arild Sundet.
Sundet is not yet in Paris, but will be flown in on Wednesday morning.
The newspaper wanted Borgan to wear both Arsenal and Barcelona shirts for the photoshoot, according to its sports editor Per Jan Brekke.
There is an unwritten rule that officials must not do anything which will cast doubt on their impartiality
But the official found out he only owned a Barca shirt - and this was the picture that appeared in Tuesday's edition of the paper.
"It was both insensitive and stupid of me. I did not think deeply enough about the situation and the consequences when I was asked to dress up in the shirt," Borgan said.
"But there is no reason to doubt my impartiality - I don't support either of the teams."
Norway's referees chief, Rune Pedersen, agreed that Borgan had been unwise to pose in the shirt.
"There is an unwritten rule that officials must not do anything which will cast doubt on their impartiality," he said.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger had earlier played down the incident, saying: "I never go into a game looking at the referees.
"I always have a positive feeling about them. They always do the job as well as they can and in an honest way.
"The fact that one of the guys is pictured in a Barcelona shirt doesn't change my mind."
And his Barca counterpart Frank Rijkaard added: "Arsenal should give him a shirt straight away and take a photo. Then we will be levelled.
"I really don't think it makes any difference, as far as I know he was on holiday."
The officials for the final will all be Norwegian, with Hauge the main man in charge and Steinar Holvik and Sundet running the lines.
Hauge was critical of Borgan but said he understood why he had posed for the picture.
He explained: "It was a stupid thing to do but I can assure you he did it in pure joy at being picked for this game.
"There was no intention to bring speculation that he is a Barcelona supporter. He put a shirt on to symbolise the final.
"He has never been a Barca fan. It was a stupid slip which he regrets a lot."

i reckon arsenal can surprise them. would be hard but. if horsealdinho plays bad (which is only about 100 times better than anyone else on the park) the arse could have a sniff at it. i'm not an arsenal fan at all, but it would be nice to see a 'french/spanish/swedish/german/ivory coast/dutch/brazilian' (coz lets face it, they're barely english) team win it.

what henry said at the end was harsh...
he blamed the referees, and said he et'o and ronaldinho
i think he meant that people keep talkin about et'o and ronaldinho, they forget about the team. he's french, his english was dodgy, but if he meant what i think he meant, then he's still class in my eyes.
but the refereeing was dodgy...sif take away the goal for a red card.

Maybe players and spectators will now stop saying, "How late was that call, ref?"
Just think, if the referee had actually delayed calling this foul against Lehman...the advantage would have played out, a goal would not have been denied, Barca would have gone one-nil, and Arsenal would have kept their keeper with no more than, possibly, a yellow card for unsporting behaviour. More importantly we would not have been denied the entertaining spectacle the game promised to be. And Fossie would not have proven what a prize dickhead he is, by asserting that Lehman would have been sent off whatever happened. Someone give that man a rule book and MAKE HIM READ IT.

I agree.
Allow the goal, based on the advantage rule. Lehmann therefore cant be sent off because he didn't literally deny a goalscoring opportunity. Give him a yellow card for unsportsmanlike behaviour.
How shit was the refs game all round? When Ronnie didn't score the free kick it was like he didn't know which team to start being nicer to because he'd sent a player off one and denied a goal for the other. He starting carding people when they won the ball and awarding head scratching free kicks such as the one arsenal scored off.
But as Andy Gray said in commentary the game was still a contest but no longer a spectacle. Those first few minutes were mouth watering with two sides going at each other. Lucky Andy said that because everything else he said was so Arsenal biased that I started tuning him out.
Lets just hope these teams get a rematch down the track although it wont be the same without Henry vs Ronnie and surely Henry wont stay.

Yea I agree the reffereeing was poor but if they didnt allow the goal who knows what could have happened, Barca could have gone on to win 4-0 who knows. I think the ref should have let the game go, they scored the goal from it so Arenal should have played on with 11 men and been down 1-0.
it really got you thinking Can Aresnal really win it with 10 men, and i really thought they were going to after about 60 minutes, But Barca proved how good they are by winning it.

that ref was a joke the goal should have been given and no red card, henry's yellow was also unbelievable - he got kicked so the ref gave him a card - joke

i'm not one for conspiracy theories but UEFA do seem to hate hate english football - imagine what would happen if a an EPL club carried on with racist bullshit that a lot of italian and spanish clubs get up to, to say nothing of the eastern european teams
