Where to see Aust V. Brazil?

Doesn't seem like there's anywhere local to get together to see the Aust. V. Brazil Match on Monday night/ Tuesday morning.
Is anyone here going to a venue to watch this match or are we all sitting at home? Someone mentioned at CCLC last Monday that maybe we should all decend upon one place in Sydney? Where are the Sydney based Marinators watching this match? Maybe I could hook up with a few at a venue?

It's a pity that CCLC in whatever licencing arrangement allows WC "Live" sites to exist couldn't arrange something even to keep just the Sports Bar open (or re-open). We showed on Monday we'd make it worth their while (except for thr glasses!). Even if there was an "admission" charge it'd be worth it for the big screen and atmosphere.

I tend to disagree. One game with familiar faces in the Leaguesy was a must, but I'm feeling a massive need to get amongst as many crazy australians as possible for the next games. I'll be hitting the town!

This might be difficult for the Brazil game as after the 4am final whistle, I need to be on a plane to Melbourne at 8am and on a Ch9 TV studio at 10:30 looking my best ;D ;D ;D

OK. Here goes.

I just spoke with the lovely Camille at Star City (great voice, pity about the London accent!!).

Star City has THREE rooms dedicated to the Australia-Brazil game.

Camille (she of the great voice) has recommended we go to the Star City Showroom, which opens its doors at 1.00am. If we get there early enough, the panel (incl Paul Wade) will mention the Mariners fans over the PA!!! There are bars inside the Showroom and everywhere else, and Camille has suggested you have cash if you go to the Showroom as it has no ATM's.

FYI, I thought of Star City as Bling were there on Monday Night and it was huge; it's relatively close to Central and it never closes.

There are trains from Gosford at 9.07pm, 9.38pm and 10.44pm, the last of which gets in at 12.13am to Central. Going home, they start from Central at 4.45am, followed by 5.15am and 5.47am.

Let me know if this is suitable. If its sucks, then I get the famous Marinators D..head call.

jacksons on george is a hole. sorry, simple fact. TBH, most all night bars are. if only the century tavern was still the good old stench of old...

my suggestion would be to go to circular quay. there's that big open space in front of customs house, and there's a big video screen. there's sure to be lots of people, and while it won't be the most drink friendly place, it's possible to watch a match without beer (not desirable, but possible). and if we get a result, all hell is going to break lose! and i can go and sleep in my office after the game! ;D
