Former Bolton striker Youri Djorkaeff told his club New York Red Bulls he had to miss the league match against New England to return to France for a family emergency, but officials saw TV pictures of him in the crowd for the France-Brazil quarter-final. raoflmao

while we're being childish i guess i should mention that the place a big football match is played is a 'stadium', rather than a 'satdium'?

i understood what you said, but the present rules dont allow it...you can either have one or the other.....

i understood what you said, but the present rules dont allow it...you can either have one or the other..... where in the rules does it say that? what would happen instead of the situation as mick described? would a duly warranted penalty be overturned for the lesser offence of a dive after the act? isn't the play considered dead once the foul in the box occurs, so short of meteor strike or other force majeure the penalty will be taken? isn't it true that this wouldn't preclude a card for a dive, because unsportsmanlike acts intended to influence the referees decision are punishable by caution?

i understood what you said, but the present rules dont allow it...you can either have one or the other..... The laws of the game allow it. It is the same as if the player abused the ref for not protecting players from a 'thug' even through the penalty has been given, and got himself carded before the penalty was taken. I've seen that!

i agree as in theory both can get carded as the two incidents didn't happen at the same time, a clare fould then an exaggerated dive, a penalty, and then a card for henry
