I've gone for more of an all round squad given the fact that you get points for how all your players perform.
.................Robinson Neill....R. Ferdinand...King....Weir Lennon.....Cahill....Alonso.....Barry ............Rooney.....Yakubu
Subs James, A Ferdinand, Emerton and Ashton
you have unlimited changes until it starts so I may change it around

Whats the point in having them if they dont earn u points? If one of your designated XI doesn't play for some reason, then your subs (in specified order) will automatically 'come on' and earn your points in the absent player's place. Also, as you only get one free transfer per round, it can be useful to have subs that can play since you can switch them in and out of your team free of charge. This can be tactical since Lucas Neill might be in your team but Blackburn could be playing Chelsea away so you want to leave him on the bench that week and use someone else. Just one of many examples. The other way to look at it is that you dont want precious money sitting on your bench when you could have more valuable/better players in your first XI. So you do what I've done and have two 3.5 defenders and a 4.5 midfielder on the bench to make funds available for more expensive players to start. This is risky because if one of my good players doesn't play for some reason, the guys that will come in may not play themselves or if they do they'll probably earn f*** all!

Good work to the likes of DJ and Sideshow Pete for accurately representing the Mariners strip for their team.
Shame on dYbo and Perm for seemingly trying to do so and failing.
And the battle for the fugliest strip in the history of FPL is between Eric and Ryan. Fair shake of the stick fellas!

Sweet - thanks for an explanation Tiger - I'll have another look at the bench!
On another note, would people up for an a-league fantasy game? It may have to be played differently? but it's not hard creating a list of players and values? If we can get something on the website great (I have Pm'd Adz) but if not we can do it manually? 3 points for a clean sheet (must play 70 mins or gets 1), 2 points an assist and 3 for a goal.

Would I what! Would be hard to set up properly on the website I'm sure. Manually could be viable and easy to manage though particularly if there were only a few of us. As long as the Chivas Regal player of the week gets minus 10 points ;D So no single point for involvement in a match? Penalty save points for keepers? Limit to players from each team? Transfers limit each week and their cost if any? How do we handle the increase and decrease of player value if any?

Sexcellent! So people submit their team in a dedicated forum thread. Resubmit every 4 rounds with up to two player swaps. After each round, 1-4 people could list all players that scored points (this should be piss easy especially if one person does defenders and the other does all the goals and assists, or give each person 2 teams to sort out for example) and people can self score. Leave it to nerds like omni to check that no one cheats or they are disqualified We may need a thread to contain everyone's monthly team, a thread to list weekly player scores and a thread to keep a leaderboard and discuss. That's if we run it on the forum!
