a.k.a. Greece vs. Turkey in a Euro 2008 qualifier. On Greek Independence Day. In Athens. Are UEFA completely bonkers?? (quite possibly so, yes) The only way this could get more heated is if it was held on the island of Cyprus with Greece, Turkey, and Cyprus playing out a 3 way tournament of some sort. Anyways, I'll be watching come 6.30am-ish Sunday morning (god bless the Internet), anyone else?? P.S. Just to add to the hilarity - Croatia and Macedonia play each other in the other batch of Euro qualifiers on Thursday morning our time. Huzzah for Balkan madness!!!

*nods* Wouldn't have it any other way....... although I can't deny that watching it with a whole bunch of Greek or Turkish supporters would be an experience and a half - as long as the two are not in the same room at the same time.

I play in a basketball team. With both Greeks and Turks. No problem. Not even mentioning Cyprus gets them angry

Forza - not entirely sure about the Turkish fans being allowed or not. Methinks you'd have to look around the 'net, read a few forums, that sorta thing. In the interests of attempting to appear fair and all that, they'd probably give a smallish allocation, as per FIFA (and UEFA as far as I know) rules, y'know?? Although they do take a look at special situations like this one...... (e.g. in the World Cup when they put Serbia in a different pot so they wouldn't get drawn with Croatia)
