I'm too lazy to even post the youtube link here.
Just search "Messi goal Getafe" to find his glorious run and finish in the Copa Del Rey semifinal that has the papers comparing him to his legendary countryman (even more so).
Then search "Maradona england 86" for a refresher. Unbelievably similar.
Check out hand of god while you're there.

what a goal - fantastic stuff (almost better than the hand of gods as he's remembered for his hand ball in that game )

it is a good goal, but when i watch it i see very poor defence rather then good attacking.

no no, im a defender so i look that that and see poor defending, one of those guys could have easily chopped him and gave the foul.

Im a defender, but am not a fan of the "Crap, he is too good for me, ill take the red for the team."
If they would have done it it is poor defending, and would have shown how good his run was by the fact they knew he was so much better than them.
They decided to try and actually defend, and i applaud them for that, but exquisit touch saw him through them all.

I'm a defender too, and it appeared that by the time they could have considered jockeying, diving in, or giving away the foul, the ball was already being rolled back to the centre circle for kick off.
It was just too good.

it can be done without seeing red. When he taps it to the side you (eg left side of you) you bring your right foot over across your body blocking him from the ball and continuing his run.
If you dont wanna give away the foul then jockey and direct him to where you want him to go with your positioning

If you dont wanna give away the foul then jockey and direct him to where you want him to go with your positioning we're talking about a guy who's moving at sprinting pace - even paolo maldini in his prime would hav been doing very well just to be able to clip him. see the way he just drops those midfielders like they're standing still? sliding clean across his path with your legs raised like a hurdle would be about all you could do, and even then he'd probably get around (look what he did to the keeper).
