Judging his sublime performance at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, Messi just shades Kaka.
Bias declared, but Cristiano Ronaldo is still a very young man, and wonderfully skillful.
Italy's Gianluigi Buffon must get a mention in the top 5, probably along with Madrid's Fabio Cannavaro.
As for pure strikers, Drogba must go close to no.1.

My world top 5 at the moment, not in order.....
Messi Christiano "i shag hookers" Ronaldo Van Persie Dogbath Owen
And no bias, but how the f*** is Robert Green not starting every game for England? He is a machine, and has been on fire since January

Van Persie and Owen? ? Owen is out injured ALL THE TIME, yet always manages to score. Still one of the best on earth Van Persie is playing great at the moment, is young, and Dutch

Van Persie could be anything, especially if he stays at the Emirates, under the tutelage of the Arse.

Messi is untouchable ,his performances to date for Barca have been mind blowing. Green needs to play for a decent top half side behind a solid defence and hell go places

Some of the goals that Messi has scored recently proves that he is one of the best in the world. But there are some outstanding players who are even younger than Messi who I think have what it takes to be the best, Bojan Krkić, Giovani dos Santos and Alexandre Pato will all become big name players in the future.

There are 2 things I hate, people who are intolerant of other races, and the Dutch (Nigel Powers - Austin's fashjer)

My top 5 are
1. Messi 2. C.Ronaldo 3. Drogba 4. Kaka (not consistent enough) 5. Ronaldinho
And Zlatan Ibahimovic is a big 1 to consider i think 2 weeks ago he had scored 7 goals. he has been averaging 2 goals a game.

Zizou.
I don't care if he's retired, he is still a fantastic player - look at the last World Cup. Despite being on the verge of retirement, he showed up Ronaldinho as little more than a pretender.
