Forum changes

Hi folks,

As you by now are aware the forum has been updated to Proboards V4. This was a hard time for us all I know, but you are back in there posting your little hearts out aren't you!? esp. Marinermick! lol

Many of the new functions you will know - birthdays shown, the calender of events, more stats info on posts. Most of the changes have been 'back-end' though. Still it is an improvement.

Nothing stays the same, so after some input and discussion behind the scenes the Central Coast United FC board, started last year early in the NSWPL season, has now been broadened by request to cover ALL Central Coast football!

I also want to float an idea that I have - before I do it.

The Fans Forum is for ALL Mariners fans, and for the first 6 months it was, but with the emergence of the Marinators as a force there is a lot of discussion that those not wanting to, or able to, be part of the wonderful Bay 16 experience will find 'in house'. I would also like to get the Chairman's direct comments on the board - like Sydney FC, and our coaches.

I propose to start a new board on this Forum, called "The Marinators" in which all the specifically Marinators related posts can be focussed - if we are successful these will explode! Nothing will be lost.

The CCMFC board within this forum will continue for broader fans focus.

This will also mean that a direct link from the proposed Marinators web site can be made straight to the Marinators board.

No arguments with any of that here, and I agree that having a seperate Marinators section is becoming more and more necessary.

I remember when I first came here most of the members were old rowdies boys and were talking about stuff I didn't know about, I felt a bit awkward. We should have a general Mariners discussion that new people and general mariners fans can find very accessable. I think we all know the difference between Mariners talk and Marinators/Bay16 talk, so that should'nt be too much of a problem.

I also agree Kev, I think that a 'marinator' and a mariners supporter are becoming different animals whilst both probably having the same goals.
