Go Cowboys: less NRL publicity in A-League heartland.

I thought my reason for wanting cowboys to win was pretty political...
But hey, I will probably watch the GF, at least in this code you can tackle below the hips and get penalised for dropping the ball!

Rugby League is the shittiest game in the universe I'll assume the last comment was aimed at AFL.... At least in AFL you can take someones head off and only get a free kick against you, none if this sin bin bullshit - as for dropping the ball you can't do that in AFL either

I wont waste much time defending NRL cos who gives a shit but-
NRL is more physical contact wise than AFL, so i dont see why you are trying to play that angle. look at what barry was going to get suspended for! that would have counted as a missed tackle in league.
As for dropping the ball, you CAN do that in AFL in fact I believe if a guy gets a hold of you you HAVE to let it go? Dropping it doesnt necessarily mean losing possession it just means you dont get a 'free kick'.
It's positives are that the players spread over the field like football so there's more variety and tactics. And that you get a point for trying. Encouraging for hacks!

C'mon man at least know the rules ;D You have to "dispose" of the ball properly - either a kick or a hand-pass - dropping or throwing will give the other team a free kick, lose possession. Point for trying? C'moonnnn at least they don't call the score a "try" - they do more than just try, they kick goals and points. And how hard is it to score in league?? Ooh I have to get the ball to the end of the field, anywhere along the end bit will do, thanks theres a "try".
Rugby League sucks most ;D

er, when was the last time you saw an all-in brawl on a league field? you get two guys throwing a coupla windmills at nothing and then they break off. bugger all on there...
and i think it's fair enough to have a knees to shoulders rule as they do in the AFL- the players are moving very bloody quickly most of the time so anke taps or hits to the head are seriously dangerous to the tackled player.
add to that the fact that in league most of the contact is structured and expected (you know where the next hit is coming from and very rarely does a player get blindsided) so the tackled player has an opportunity to brace themselves for large impacts or avoid the ankle tap.
aussie rules is different because it's an open field game rather than lines of defence and attack, so the way tackles happen has to be regulated more.

f*** Rugby League As a wise man once said 'I don't believe in Bondi, don't believe in Rugby League' Duffy? having said that the man who sung these lyrics is a silvertails supporter and wore manly socks when they played at central coast stadium. back when i was following the game i was a tigers supporter so go the tigers. between losing newtown and the merger of wests and balmain i am a disillusioned soul from the game.
