funny story for everyone.... my friend is having a magpie issue on his balcony... it keeps swooping him and knocking him over. 2nd story balcony mind you. so i called wires to get advice for him before the thing knocks him over the edge.. their advice was to find the nest and smash the eggs and then MAYBE it would go away. this is a true story. does anyone else think this is strange?

200m - a bird, unfortunatley like most humans, won't be arsed.
Magpies - a runners worst enemy

that is strange considering that they are meant to look after the wildlife not suggest you distoy its offspring and nest

Minor birds used to swoop at my little dog in our old place (she is only little maltese cross silky)
I am surprised wires told you to find the nest and kill the eggs thou?

When i was an apprentice working in a small town in cornwall, the boss sent me out the back of the building we were working on to get some materials. I got hit square in the face by a rogue low-flying seagull.
eleven years later i was eating a cornish pastie in my first return to the same town since that evil episode. I got dive-bombed, had my pastie nicked, and got shat on by a seagull. Probably a relative of the first one no doubt.
Life eh? What a freakin laugh!!!

I've worked in grounds in a previous job where we made friends with the Maggies by giving them some food. They never divebombed us and became quite friendly to us all. Maybe your friend could find out what's best for the Maggies to eat and leave a small dish of food out on the balcony. In time, your friend can then get close to them and in no time at all have them eating out of their hands. Mind you, they may sh!t on the balcony after such a good meal!

We used to leave raw mince out on the lawn for them to eat. Got to the point where they would come inside the house if we left the door open
