just wondering if there are any other people on the forum who read 'The far side' by Gary Larson. I have asked alot of poele if they read or have even heard of it and the usual answer is no. For those who do not know what 'The far side' is, its a comic created by this bloke called Gary larson, he is great. here are some of his comics i scanned/googled for you to see: (sorry some of them are a bit small, i will put the caption underneath) 'Midget Westerns' 'notice all the computations, theoretical scribblings and lab equipment, Norm ... Yes, Curiosity killed these cats.' (this one is from the other days daily telegraph, i love it)

You can't beat The Far Side. Gary Larson is a genius. Have you seen the Horse Hospitals one?

THE benchmark by which ALL cartoon humour should be measured. Have been a fan for many a year. Wonderful outlook on life ( and, indeed, death) and the only worthwhile part of the Daily Terror. I would love to have a drink with him but i think he may be dead-o , so conversation may be a bit one-way, eh?

My favourite is a little kid pushing a door which says "pull" at the school for the gifted ha ha ha yeas, that is a favourite of mine! i like the ont with the bloke, whos floating in the ocean on a bit of wood, then he comes across this little desert island, (you know the type with sand and a palm tree?) and there is a dog, sitting next to a sign reading "beware of the dog." how ironic! And for Glen.... oh, did anyone see who is on the cover of 'good weekend' yesterday? none other than Bono! Wahoo!

The caption is Horse Hospitals and in the picture there are a few horses lying in beds in traction and all the doctors walking around are carrying shotguns.

My all time favourite is the one with 3 dogs standing upright (like humans) on a grassy knoll which overlooks some lions at the Zoo.
One dog's drinking from a beer can, with many empty's laying about while the 2nd dog is goating and encouraging the 3rd dog to go into the lion enclosure with the speech bubble of the 2nd dog saying, "Go on Dave/Harry?, you can take'em"
Sort of like Mitch wanting me to smash some-one all the time when we've had a few just for his enjoyment, but the dog version.
If anyones got it or can find it, would love to see it in here again. ;D
Pissed myself for hours the day I saw it in the paper, remembered it ever since. Would even have it carved into my grave stone.
