simple plan go under the "EMO hardcore" genre of music. which in lamens terms means, THEY SUCK!

emo has been around since the eighties. great music actually was developed.
some people mistake emo as the new trend of black and poor attempts of punk music, like simple plan, and put them under the title of Emo as some of their songs are whiney, and the fans all wear black, dye hair black...the works. this is just new age, pop punk. not emo, bands like simple plan and good charlotte are definately not worthy of the title emo, let alone hardcore...
some emo music is very good, say classics like The Cure and more contemporary like Bright Eyes.
