There is a Lunar Eclipse tonight at about 8pm, this is supposed to be fairly spectacular and another won't be happening for a few years. ;D

There is a Lunar Eclipse tonight at about 8pm, this is supposed to be fairly spectacular and another won't be happening for a few years. ;D It is unbelievable how many teachers mentioned this today! It actually starts at 6:51pm and will finish at approx. 8:51pm. Also, 7:51pm is the time when they should completely overlapping, turning the moon a red color.

Man that wasn't that great, there was one a few years ago that was AWESOME. It was a bit cloudy at my place yesterday though.

This was one of the best eclipses I have seen for a long time.... and is the only full eclipse till 2011. The light polution in many areas may have affected the viewing, but truly it was a fairly spectacular night. Especially viewing it through a 1/2m telescope.

Yeah i noticed there was a bit of cloud around too. Admittedly I dont find these things very interesting anyway.
