Tall poppy syndrome?? What a crock - you've got to be a tall poppy to start with...... the man was an average player at best, with the occasional great game here and there. This whole 'e' caper only confirms my long held suspicions that he is an idiot.
I have no sympathy for drug users of any kind, and there is no positive spin to be put on this, by anyone, at all. Anyone who does so is fooling themselves.

Correct. I didn't infer there was. Did I?
A tall poppy as anyone that has success, wealth or status, attracting resentment of that success. Sorry mate. I do know what it is.

Where does the cheat part fit? Performance enhancing E?
Clouding the issue by bringing up his family? I said I felt for his family for god's sake, who are innocent victoms of his foolishness. Exucuse me for being ferking human. What would you have me do? You also KNOW I made comment comparing other codes in answer to comments made inferring it wouldn't happen in football. Don't try to put a ferking spin on what I write Mick.
For the record, & for those that can't read past their noses,
But I won't say this in case I get accused of clouding the issue or mentioning something not part of this discussion.

Having suffered depression myself, I can sympathise with that side of him. Aside from that though, f*ck the idiot. He had a town that WORSHIPPED the very ground he stood on, a bevy of women at his doorstep, all the money he could ever need, and what does the moron do?? Get on the gear...... depression and such is NO EXCUSE for recreational drug use. Ever. *watches the halo over his head shatter irrevocably* Having said that, this has helped my comedy life immensely - first Ben Cousins and the West Coke Eagles, and now this. P.S. Many a time I've heard stories from friends who used to live on campus at Newcastle University about drunken/high Knights players who would come to the dormitory looking for action....... it's common knowledge that the Knights have gotten away with anything they've wanted to in Newcastle town for years - the similarities to the West Coast Eagles continue to amaze. I just got back from the campus. oh boy what fun I had in the rooms ;D

Actually I was probably, no definately talking out of my arse there as I was caught up in the moment, I'm old enough to know better , but as soon as I heard the name I remember a couple of incidents that have happened in town in the mid 90's including one where he told my sister to 'Suck It' trying to be funny in front of his team mates. Apparently the Knights knew about it and neglected to let the NRL know, it just gets worse for them.

On a high note for them, they managed to sneak a 26-24 win away to the Tigers, to knock them out and hopefully avoid the wooden spoon.

Where does the cheat part fit? Performance enhancing E? It's a banned substance. He admitted to using it for a long period during his career and feeling lucky to narrowly "escape" being caught by the testing process... or so the story goes.

He admitted to using it for a long period during his career and feeling lucky to narrowly "escape" being caught by the testing process... or so the story goes. Which leads me to wonder whether there is any action the NRL and/or ASADA could take against him now that he's admitted to deliberately taking a banned substance during the season? While his playing days are over due mainly to the injuries he has/had, he is still clear to take up any official role he may apply for in the future -including such roles as development officer with the Knights (if they were now that stupid ), coaching roles etc. He's gotta be close to being unfit to work with children, surely?
