herehere great album. whats your fav song so far Dybes? toss up between 15 step, faust arp and maybe all i need. but there's not one i dislike, and i think it's a big leap from their last couple. worth the wait. it's like they've found the melody of the bends, the art of ok computer but kept the kinda quirky creativity that's characterised the last 3 or so albums. thom yorke seems willing to stretch the old vocal chords again, they're laying down some rock riffs again while still mucking about with beats and blips and samples (15 step and videotape in particular). it's a bit like they've tied it all together in one album. 3 listens so far and am finding new bits i like all the time. *shudders, and mumbles something about over-rated hacks, before walking quietly out of the room so Dibo doesn't fire up* were you up playing halo til nearly 5?

dont get me started on the lyrical genius that isnt Matthew Bellamy. Mmmmmm, 'cause noises thrown together with random screeching = "important" music. Thom Yorke needs to get over himself. Adz - don't give away my secrets.

seriously, ...er, serious - you want to listen to this album. i shit you not - it's not like the radiohead you're thinking of. it's not quite like any of their other stuff. but influenced by it at the same time. great stuff.

Apparently lots of people are buying the box set anyway. Album is best of the last few - shows the good that having a few years between albums can do for a band's creativity

Paid one pound for it last night, liking what I hear so far.
I think it's a brilliant concept for an album, the whole choose what you pay thing.
People are consuming much more music more quickly because of iPods. We are all listening to music for more hours of the day.
That means we want more to listen to...but without blowing the budget. This suits the concept that people want to pay much less for each album. Make it 'pay what you want' and you get some nice publicity to boot. Don't worry about the costs of crafting the CD's, shipping them around the world, etc, and the money that each person chucks in is almost pure profit. The diehards still cash you up by buying the box set.
Ironically, this wouldn't work nearly as well if everyone did it.

fantastic seeing that there ae a few radiohead fans here. only knew of perm. hardly ever enter this forum.
the concept of pay what you want has done well. bretts contribution will give the band more money than if he bought an album through a label.
an album will be realeased in jan for ppl who want something tangible in their collection.
what do you guys think about them recording songs in which they have played live for so long? nude(big ideas) gets me more and more each time i listen to it.
