I noticed on the camera scaffold at the back of bay 16 there was a small scull & crossbones flag. Will this theme be the marinators banner? If so, perhaps we could get 'Gosford Signs' or another local signmaker to donate a large banner to be put up at each game ( home and away )? Something like.... Your thoughts?

I like the seafaring theme! There were plenty of pirate-types supporting the Mariners on the night! But the biggest pirates were the beer and food sellers. Better make it yellow and blue, or else we would be mistaken for Keeweeze. ;D

At the risk of being a bit off, I've a vision of 200 Marinators in gold and blue, at the first home game in the pre-season cup. Original Marinators shirts, other shirts, and new jerseys, etc. We get a large stock of those blue headscarves next Cancer fund raiser, and cheap black eyepatches. Anyone got a few stuffed toy parrots? Blue scarves too if you have any until the club sells some..

The shirts were a great start on saturday but as we progress I think getting more colour and more action into the bay would be great. If a few of us have the eyepatch accessories etc then it will show the kids around the stadium the way to go and make their day a bit more enjoyable (I dont know how many 0-0 games a kid will sit through.) I'm heading down to the local costume shop later to see what they have so I can get the ball rolling on Wednesday.

kevrenor suggested in another thread that instead of crossed cutlasses we have crossed beer cans (i think schooners) and have our skull singing if possible. I loved it so I'm chucking it in here.
Out of the dark blue or yellow around the outside i think the dark blue looks better but it would be nice if we had confirmation that blue was going to be a predominate colour on one of our A-League strips.

The skull IS singing! He just has limited jaw movement as he is suffering a bad case of rigamortis! To alter the skull in any way would require someone a lot cleverer than me to do artistic changes by hand. My first thought about the cans or schooners of beer is that we don't want to be known as a bunch of piss heads (although.....hmmm, never mind) but then again, do the cutlasses show us as sword wealding maniacs? hmmmm..... The cutlass I guess is just a traditional 'mariner' icon and theme.

Love the banners ;D By the way that was me waving the little pirate flag - I didn't think it went down too well on the night because as soon as I got there someone yelled at me "You're not Johnny Depp!!"

Needs to be blue and gold. Also we need to get rid off white numbers and names on jersey, make them blue too hard to read and bit more blue get rid of the white stripe on jersey make it blue. But it was the best colour scheme on the night
