absolutely.....nice one Celery!
You just never know do you.... The things that some of our more 'senior' members of the community went through sooooo much and often not given anywhere near the respect they so richly deserve. Some of those bloody names! wow! (Duncan Edwards, Tommy Doc.....oh, it brought tears to an old Man U man....)
Joe....I tip my hat to you sir!

the story just proves that even if you have a long club and national career as a defender constantly heading a ball much heavier than the one we have today, you can still have the exact same haircut 50 years later.

more like beer blindfold.
i have an idea for the site that i posted in 'bling songs' but all the posts in thread seem to have disappeared. FARK
We introduce a section on the website called song of the week: -each week we choose a good song out of the ones that pop up on the forum and nominate it song of the week
- a good way for everyone to learn one good/longer/more difficult song each week
-better than trying to start something complicated in bay 16 that people just cant catch onto
-we add a great song to our repetoire each week so after a few home games we'll have lots of good songs while the opposition is still singing 'here we go'
-negative: takes away from the tradition of just starting something in the bay and seeing what sticks. this is just a way to get a few harder ones that are struggling to get going in the bay because no one can learn them.
thoughts?

Sea Of Yellow (to Yellow Submarine) by Sandy Haruki
In Gosford town A team was born The stadium A yellow sea And when the team Begins to play The yellow sea Becomes a wave
Chorus We all follow a yellow football team The Mariners our team The best you’ve ever seen
The Mariners are a yellow football team They shatter all the dreams Of the other football teams
The Skull and Bones Are what you fear The Marinators You can’t get near Bay 16 Is what you hear With heart and pride We sing our song
Chorus You’ll go down like a Russian Submarine A Russian Submarine A Russian Submarine
We all follow a yellow football team Yellow football team Yellow football team
As we live a life of football Everyone of us has all we need Sky of blue and sea of yellow In our yellow football team
And our friends are all on board Many more of them live next door And the team begins to play
Chorus We all follow a yellow football team The Mariners our team The best you’ve ever seen
The Mariners are a yellow football team They shatter all the dreams Of the other teams
We all follow a yellow football team The Mariners our team The best you’ve ever seen
The Mariners are a yellow football team They shatter all the dreams Of the other teams
(Bloody hell that's a big song to learn and sing as one)
E I E I E I O Up the football here we go We're gonna win the A-League and this is what we sing We're the Mariners We're the Mariners Winning is our thing.

E I E I E I O is very easy - I've had it in my head all week - walking around Richmond belting it out getting a few looks (mind you I think they were shouldn't you be at school or work or something looks)
