So...what actually happened at the end of the game?
From what I heard some twit at the front of Bay 16 though it'd be funny to throw bottles at a water boy. Security were rather lax and eventually got involved after some marinators requested their assistance. Then somebody in Bay 15 wearing a yellow shirt was abusing somebody in Bay 16 for dobbing him in and one of the conductors started firing back at him over the megaphone.
That's the story I've heard....is that more or less what happened?
At least it got bay 15 standing ;-)

no need for the thread as it will take away from the fact we beat Adelaide and Romario.

I think the 'Kwassie is still crap' thread already did that

I was in Bay 16. Someone was throwing bottles at the ball boy (and props to him for ignoring it all...he looked like he was only about 12 or somethign from where I was. Not many 12 year olds I know who wouldnt have turned around and went off) and someone from up in the main group went down to try and find who it was. Then someone spotted someone throwing bottles at that person, and he went down to tell him to cut it out and he started abusing him back. Security eventually got off their butt (why theres only one sitting in a plastic chair at the goal end I dont know, needs at least 2 I thought) and they came in and it escalated from there...someone started abusing someone else and it went back and forth.)

Folks, i dont post here cause i dont sit in bay 16 during the match, but I have a suggestion - shame them. take their picture and post it on a "hall of shame". Ill set up the web site and host it if you want, although i think just the act of taking their teenage mugs and scaring them into thinking their mums might see them and never let out on fridays again might help. Most authority is bluff, after all. Look at the security.....wont get off their arses when they need to.

I don't wish to offend the younger members of this forum, or their passion, and you can bet it probably aint anybody here, or is planned either. My bet is that its just a spontaneous thingy (im past hormonal, i just smell these days), so a quick flash from a camera to get their attention and a "wait till your mother sees this in the express advocate" will probably do the trick. We are all there for the atmosphere, but when the game's over, so is the circus.

Broadening the debate slightly, the overall organisation from e-group (again) and the stadium left a lot to be desired.
1) Refusing to open the gates until the dot of 6 regardless of the fact that there was at least 1,000 (maybe more) queuing to get in. This caused needless frustration and many moans from the newbies around me.
2) E-group NOT making sure there were no people in the aisles
3) No police/security at the entry to bay 15/16 so the idiots chucking bottles could do it unmolested
4) The e-group bloke behind the goal sitting on his backside and refusing to budge when it was obvious that something was going on.
Chucking bottles etc on the pitch cannot be allowed - no excuses its not fun or kool. Its wanker behaviour and its sad that the security presence in the ground is too inept to notice it or deal with it.
Next week we have a big game against a side that will bring at least 1,000 and will be v close to us. It got ugly enough last time because no one in authority has the guts/balls to keep away supporters to bay 13 but let Blue and yellow mix in 15 , add beer ,heat and a tense game and you have a recipe for disaster
If they dont think they can do that then they should put the cove in a bay in one of the corners at the other end (like they do at EAS). Yes, I know it will reduce the "atmosphere" but I fear that the 1st outbreak of violence is getting ever closer at Bluetongue and neither e-group or the police have the faintest idea what to do to stop it.

theres a thread over at sydneyFC unofficial where they are saying the covites might get moved to near the tunnel or something, but nothin was confirmed, all rumour - its an issue. Who wants to be the ones to bring the league into disrepute, and who wants to be told by wankers like Fitzsimmons "I told you so" (bad pun I know, forgive me St Johnny)

Well as we expand into Bay 15 - and, ideally, as we get start turning Bay 15 into an extension of Bay 16 (atmosphere, standing up, singing etc) we won't be able to have the opposition supporters next to us - especially when it's an intense game, like anything with Sydney or Newcastle.
It's great having them close, great for atmosphere, but probably asking for trouble having them in the next bay to what hopefully will be us (sooner or later).
Being a Sunday arvo people this weekend should be a little calmer than at a Fri/Sat night match though, and a bit less intoxicated.

If they think there will be trouble go UK style and have a row of security and coppas down the isle in between

something must be done about the coves location this sunday. way too close to us and their numbers will be large enough that they will pour into the surrounding bays. bringing them waaay too close for comfort.

The Cove will be in the same location - originally in the Club Challenge the away bay was set for 1 and 2 I think? Basically right down the other end near the trees.
However away fans didn't wanna sit there so bays 13/14 became the away area.
I have spoken to the club on this and it certainly won't change this season!

its pretty easy really, there are many of us, and only a couple of people that may want to start something, if anything happens we take care of them, im not saying physically, im just saying that we put them in their place. and lets hope the cove do the same, im looking forward to this game, i hope the crowd is well behaved, and i'd love to see sydney bring large numbers to improve the atmosphere and to help boost our performance in the bay.

Is there someone "in charge" of The Cove who we can talk to pre-game, even pre-gameday about it?

It wasnt the guys from the Cove who were the issue last time. They were in 14 and stayed there. The problem was drunken idiots in 15 who started getting very aggro when we took the lead.
If the answer to people who might cause trouble is to self police, you have to ask yourself the question about WTF the police/security are actually for?
