I don't know if this has been brought up before, but why don't we have an official spokeperson to repond to media( like that express article) and maybe bring issues up with them (like the cops behaviour).
What do you guys think?

If (and its a big if) 1 person was nominated as spokesperson, they would need to put their hand up and not be picked to do it.
My personal opinion is that we do a damn good job of getting the message out because there are different people with different contacts.

What do you guys think? horses for courses there is no one spokesperson but a number of them for different situations if you watched nbn news last friday night then you will have seen jeff hall (aka lou macari) speaking on the issue at other times we have had tiger, dj, fish, myself and others tackle media enquiries it's the nature of our group that there is no one leader or spokesperson

In the early stages I had to do media interviews and try to sound like I lived on the Coast until we got more people actively involved. Best to spread the luv around, and keep the heat off any one person. From each according to their abilities and availability. It is better for the Marinators to be more of a 'movement' than an "organisation''.

(melding and bastardising 'solidarity forever' with 'glory glory hallelujah') when the football's inspiration through the people's blood has run there can be no greater power when we all unite as one we're here in gosford town between the ocean and the sun with the mariners sailing on on on glory glory central coast glory glory central coast glory glory central coast with the mariners sailing on on on

Horses for courses There is no one spokesperson but a number of them for different situations If you watched nbn news last friday night then you will have seen jeff hall (aka lou macari) speaking on the issue At other times we have had tiger, dj, fish, myself and others tackle media enquirers It's the nature of our group that there is no one leader or spokesperson Agree. In the early stages I had to do media interviews and try to sound like I lived on the Coast until we got more people actively involved. Best to spread to luv around, and keep the heat off any one person. From each according to their abilities and availability. It is better for the Marinators to be more of a 'movement' than an "organisation''. in saying this we are moving to affiliate "Friends of the Marinators" with the Central Coast Leagues Club. There are clear reasons to do this: - Repay the faith and kindness of the Leagues Club by having a structured club under their wing - Ensure we continue to get the benefits bestowed by the club. There is a possibility this could decrease if we are not structured - Have a clear and definable membership base that in big numbers can be politically influential (Leagues Club, Mariners, CCF, Council, etc) - Some individuals have to deal in thousands of dollars each year. It is only because they are honest that we have no problems but this does not preclude the fact that something could possibly happen in the future. It is a safeguard we have to have. - Having a structure will allow us to organise and coordinate things better. Stay tuned for details on a strategic planning day we will be having in March. We hope that this day will lay down the foundation for a 3-5 year strategic plan - Through structure members will be allowed a bigger say on how things are run. The Marinators will always remain an ad hoc group that supports the mariners so passionately. Quite frankly, we don't want to formalise this, as we do not want to be responsible for the actions of individuals game day in both influencing the type of support and any problems that may arise. However, there is a definite need to formalise some of the behind the scenes activities like finance, event management, lobbying and advocacy. Jeff Hall (Lou macari) has currently written to the Leagues Club to ask for affiliation so we are only at the beginning of the road. Stay tuned for further developments.

Dibo, I love it when Man Utd songs are used!!
Troggy, we have a leadership group, rather than one nominated leader. This system works very well, so you will find all of the people in Mick's post taking responsibility from time to time.

AM

As you know Aaron, I am unequivocally on the workers side, and when you stand for the ALP in Dobell or Robertson, I would be very happy to be assisting you on your inexorable march to Capital Hill. And my tip for Monday's ballot was on the money, was it not??
That being said, it's a great song and can be shared between the workers and Manchester United.
Getting back on topic, the Marinators are going well at this time. We will get better and bigger at time goes on. WIth blokes like Lou, Fish, DJ, Mick & Tiger leading us, we will always be on the right track.
Regards, THE WORKERS, UNITED, WILL NEVER BE DEFEATED!! Sorry, Omni, couldn't resist!!

I would vote for a black shirted fascist if the next member for Dobell or Robertson gets the widening of the F3 done all the way to the end.
(Actually I think I already did...........never mind)
