Today, Dynamo Marinators df Locamotiv Cove 5-4 on penalties after a 2-2 draw in regular time in front of a packed 'Mingara Stadium'. (By packed im talking the players on the field, the bench, a couple of family members who were just waiting for the game to finish so they could take siblings home, and a few die hard marinators fans) good on you guys for sticking around.
Tyson started the show with a goal in the first quarter (played quarters because of the heat). Then locamotiv scored 2 goals (dunno who they were that scored). And Locamotiv Cove nearly heldon for the win but then with 2 mins to go, conceded a penalty and red card, after some old dude nailed me. Penalty was put away and the game went directly to penalties (because we couldn't be bothered doing extra time). In the shoot out. Penalties were scored by Sam, Dibo (shut the gate ), myself and brett but were cancelled out by some good penalties from Locamotiv. Then one of the Cove players (whose favorite player was apparently Roberto Baggio) hit a penalty which was brilliantly saved by the mind powers of Bearinator in goal, forcing it onto the bar.
"Captain-fantastic" Permboy put away the resulting penalty to give the Dynamo Marinators a historic win and give the sydney boys what would have felt like a LOOOOOOONG trip home.... ;D
Many a song was sung in the change room afterwards.
It was a hard fought victory and credit to all the organisers and people involved to make it a great day.
cheers,
