My A.A.A.A©, or All Australian Action Adventure© starts today!!
We drive out to Devonport tonight, city of the degenerate and homeless, and board the spirit of Tas, bound for melbourne! From there, were just freaking driving.
For us, that presents a difficulty. Neither me nor my mate have travelled on the mainland before, so the time of driving will be somewhat of a change for us. I drove from one end of Tasmania to the other last week in 5 hours, so my concept of drive time is decidedly two-headed.
Were staying in the Formule1 thats close to the stadium I'm told. Thanks to all you guys who helped me find accommodation.
So wheres the nearest watering hole? We have delegated large amounts of hard earned(/borrowed) cash to the pursuit of amber, so we need a haunt!
Were not too keen on being loners the whole time, so if theres any goings on that involve the blue and yellow, feel free to drop me a line! (mobile no. - oh-four-one-nine 554049 - hows that for anti-spam decryption?!?)
I look forward to meeting a swathe of you, and enjoying the game!
Regards, Greenlig

Greenlig, well done, what a road trip! After all that mate you deserve a win on NYE! Feel free to call me when you get into town and I'll see if I can get you into the stadium for a look around before NYE game.
Plenty of watering holes with mariners supporters in round here. The leagues club (where our 'bar' is - the kendall bar) is only 10 mins walk from the formula one and the RSL is just across the road from the motel also(cheap meals and drink)
Look forward to catching up when you get here.

In answer from another thread… lets hope they have some tassie beer in Gosford. Greenlig, don’t worry I’m pretty sure you can get most (maybe all) Boag’s varieties here BUT some more readily from the bigger bottle shops than in a pub / bar. On Cascade, there’s some that they don’t “export” from Tas (Draught, Bitter) but things like Premium Lager, the weird label ones (Blonde, Amber, Stout) are readily available. A lot of pubs run the Premium Light as their on-tap light. Alas the (my opinion) very good First Harvest I’ve only ever seen once (at the Brewery). If it is gettable elsewhere, I’d pay $10 per stubbie if you brought some up Great effort. Have a great and safe trip!

Yeah thats my only concern!! You'd be a cascade man though wouldn't you? I'm all for Boags Also from another thread. Greenlig if i was over the "legal" limit i would drink Cascade draught or light any day. Also good to see that the Central Coast has a good taste in beer and something Tasmanian is actually on the mainland .

Of course you'd have to sample a Bluetongue at Bluetongue Stadium

Hey guys, sorry I couldn't see more of you while up there. The guy I was with didn't really like the idea cause he is only a new fan and doesn't know any of you. Silly sod. That meant we spent new years eve in the frigging hotel room!!
I am back in tassie now, arrived here at 9am this morning, after the best trip of my fledgling life!! I located some cousins and toured the beaches and whatnot and it was easily the best holiday I have had.
All that paled in significance beside watching the Mariners train, and chin-wagging with Viddy, Gumpy, Tobin, Clarky, Lawrie, and others. A totally brilliant and utterly unforgettable experience.
Loved it there, and I WILL be voyaging back this year.
Thanks guys!!

Great to have you up here supporting the boys Zac! Shame about NYE, you should have called mate, we could have organised something. Next time. Glad you got to a training session though. Let us know when you're next coming up.
