that'd be great if someone did visit..he was pretty disapointed he wasn't going to make last game..i don't think he realised how bad a shape he was in..he seemed to think he would be there at the game..no chance though..he has alot of healing to do poor guy

Maybe someone could organise a bucket at the Bay 16,to arrange flowers, chocolate, petrol money. Even though I don't know most of you(family don''t let me loose at the game) I would certainly go out of my to find and add to the collection.
Glad to hear Lindsay is getting better..

flowers and chocs are already being organised on behalf of the Marinators by Fish. Marinator funds will be used. But if someone wants to hand around a yellow bucket for additional stuff...go for it!

Well - Mariners till I die, has far more meaning now!!!!! It was so close to being...
Thank you so much for all your well wishes. Lindsay really did think he would make it to the game. Little did he understand.
To put the story straight he was 4m up on the back verandah and had rested an old microwave on the wooden railing. From there he pushed it into the skip but alas he lost his balance as the railing fell away. He fell into a 4m skip and the injuries tell the story.
He will be transferred from RNS probably early next week to the Brain Injury Unit for rehab, here they may teach him to cook; I can hope, but Lindsay says that's my job!!!!(yes, we can no longer say "Does he have one?" They actually found it when they opened up his skull.
He will be there for about 4 weeks before he can come home & he will not be able to drive for 3-6 months. Just in time to begin next seasons sojourn, probably just as well we didn't make it to the finals.
I showered him today & dressed him in marinators Tshirt & navy shorts and will go down Sunday and take is jersey in readiness. What would be good would be if someone could tape the game; if possible on DVD; so I can take it down for him to watch & we can talk through the game - we always watch to replay to discuss our thoughts on what did & didn't happen.
So many of you have helped us during this time and thank you really doesn't seem enough to express how I really feel about the support you have given. If I consider that we have been together as a supporter group for such a short time (let the paper write about this side of our supporter group). I'd say that not only does our team reflect these beautiful qualities so to does its supporters group.
Marinators are the best and there are lots of very generous and thoughtful folk amongst us.
I'll be home till Monday, then I'm going to try & go down and stay until He goes to the Unit at Ryde.
Again thank you for all your kinds words and support in many ways Mariner Mum (Gen), Sophia, Angus & JD (James)

Thanks for the update Gwen.
At the RNS he may be able to get reception for our call on 96.3FM. I know my father-in-law did at RNS last year.
Also, where in Ryde is he going? Is it the Macquarie Hospital?

Thanks again.
