I think that intimidating may be the way to go. On a slightly related topic... My dad once told me that long ago in a match in Europe, the stadium had the phrase 'Welcome to Hell' across the width of the bays - very intimidating. With flares and all to create the atmosphere, it was fantastic. Of course, that team (Legia Warsaw) has one of the best fan bases ever. The whole stadium, which to my knowledge is only slightly smaller than ours which they are planning on upgrading - has EVERYONE standing and singing. They often do something of the such. A year ago, two brazillians got signed up, and played in a match in which Legia lost 2-0 against a poor team. And they said that they had never had such a postive atmosphere from a crowd - for the whole stadium was still singing. Anyway, imagine if our stadium was one day like that. Wow.

Turkish side Fenerbache wasnt it??
Can we also look to remove the sign at the back of bay 16 or add one at 15 & 17. A few times this season people have been told to sit down/move because it is only Bay 16 that is perceived as for standing and singing.
That might encourage people to stop cramming 16 too.
As for the banner - Yellow Army is great

North End - Yellow Army

Just " Yellow Army" - north end isn't quite as catchy. Also you hope everyone around the stadium might one day feel like joining in (standing, singing) You don't want to make them feel left out by defining any boundaries of where the yellow army sits.

Well, 'The Bay' does fit in with the location of the stadium - right on Brisbane Waters.
I like Yellow Army, because that's what we are....
Although perhaps Yellow Army should be the name for the memberships (like the NRL Dragons 'Red V') (could increase a bit of support, give members a real identity as opposed to just calling them a member), with 'The Bay' or whatever being what we call the end....
Wondering what else we could call it....anything piratey perhaps?

The term 'north end' infers (in MY mind anyway) that there must be a 'south' end, and whilst there is a south end, there's no seats and so its a bit like " derrr...." (I think I'm going mad)

Just plain 'Yellow Army' does it for me. Or 'Mariners Yellow Army'.
I'm not against praising players, etc., but call me superstitious. Every time I see someone make a huge banner for a player or manager, they bugger off and sign for another Club or get a career-ending injury, leaving the poor banner maker with an expensive useless banner.

A lack of a South End doesn't mean the North End isn't the North End. There are still West and East stands.

Yeah, I know what your saying Tiger. I guess we have always referred to it as the bay so I think thats what it will always be known as to many.

I like the first one - Yellow Army - In my experience with design the simplest is often the best. The Bay is also simple but Yellow Army automatically starts the chant in my mind which is why it probably grabs me the most.

Is that sort of what the banner would be for?

Yep, I like the first one. What's it going to cost NS? well i got this one made up for the world cup, it was $150 (one of my best mates is a signwriter by trade so worked out about 1/2 the price)... this would be larger so im only guessing but i reckon about $250... the effect would be unreal and its canvas so would last forever as opposed to a hand painted job
